The truth is , practice, practice, practice - but that has to be termpered by ensuring your techique is correct, and the most efficient and effective it can be. Only your instructor can help you there.

Once you establish that your technique is good, then work speed and reaction drills with a partner and a focus pad, or get them in gear and use them as a moving target.

Tension is one of the biggest problems for newer students so be sure you are relaxed, breathing, keeping your weight on the balls of your feet (to allow you to kick immeidately without having to redistribute your weight first) and bounce slightly to keep your whole body in motion.

Then again, just practice, practice, practice.

Good Luck

I would try taking some 'Speed' for Speed (I USED to take Yellow Jackets,...but I almost died from it)+ they outlawed the active ingrediant(ephedrine) from it
But i think that takin some Speed may help you out a lil, or try some SPIKE energy pills from GNC
Or if I didnt wanna use the stimulants,...Then I'd just simply set a goal in writing to BE The Absolute Fastest in my Dojo
then after achieving that goal,I'd go out and get me one of those Championship Belts

and put some tape on it that says "The Champion of Being The Absolute Fastest in the ---- Dojo" and just Wear it!

I would say relax when performing! Most TAEKWONDO FIGHTERS tense too much! That will slow you down and make your strikes slow!
