If you would provide the model number, most here will be able to tell you. Since you already have it, read the manual about off air broadcasts. If it needs a ATSC tuner it will tell you.

Well even if it says HD, it may not have an HD receiver. Read your manual and it should say something like "HD-Ready", which doesn't include a receiver. It is more common and is probably what you have. Without the tuner, you need an HD set top box from a service provider like DirecTV, Dish, cable company, etc. Even with the receiver built in, you have to go out and buy an antenna to receive it over the air.

It will have tuner options. It will say something like ATSC input selection. This will likely be in the menu settings or it can be in your channel selections. If it has a way to program channels then it needs to be there. Also had you provided the model number one of us geeks could of found out and let you know.

For over the air (antenna) broadcasts it needs to have an ATSC tuner. For cable broadcasts it needs to have a QAM tuner.
