Ah! Finally someone asked this question in a sensible manner.
First of all, the Bible DOES NOT SAY that Satan was an angel. The work Satan does not appear until the New Testament.
This myth comes from an improper interpretation of the Book of Isaiah in the Old Testament. This particular book is a prophetic book and uses a LOT of figurative language and "picture words".
This is also the passage where we are introduced to the term "Lucifer". Now this is important to understand. The book of Isaiah, like the rest of the Old Testament, was written in HEBREW. Here is the kicker. LUCIFER IS LATIN, NOT HEBREW!!! The actually Hebrew text in this passage is translated, son of the morning. This is also what Lucifer in the Latin is translated to. However, by 1611, when King James of England ordered the Bible to be translated into English, the idea that Lucifer was an angel that fell from heaven had taken root and shows in the translation.
In actuality, the passage is talking about a man. A regional prince who had everything good in his life and seemingly endless wealth. But, he lost it all and fell from his high position into poverty and nothingness.
In conclusion, the idea that Satan was an angel is incorrect and NOT supported by the Bible. Not according to accurate literary translation and interpretation. Which begs the question:
What is the origin of Satan?

Sin, or rebellion, requires: (1) the ability to choose (freewill); (2) the desire to choose; and, most importantly, (3) something to choose from (I.E.: a viable sounding alternative choice).
I assume that in the future Heaven, number three (3) above will be missing, because by then we will all have learned by experience that rebelling against God produces bad consequences. Remember, when Satan first rebelled against God, hell did not at that point in time yet exist. So Satan had no real way of knowing from experience if God was bluffing or not whenever he promised future judgment on whomever rebelled against him.

That is a big question and requires a big answer. But in the interest of conserving time and space, I will give the "Cliff's Notes" version, and you can ask me to expand on anything you want.
God didn't wipe out Adam and Eve, or the angels, when they first sinned, because his right to rule was challenged, so he needed to prove once and for all that man cannot govern themselves and he, as the creator, has the right to rule over his creation.
So he let humanity run its course, while providing a just way for his creation to return to him if they so chose.
When this way reaches its fulfillment, mankind will be required to pass a final test. At that point God will be left with humans who choose of their own volition to serve him, and all evil influence will be removed. Hence the end of the loop.

Interesting question, I wonder if we will have free will as we know it today. It is my understanding that we will have a new body and will be of spirit form so to speak, no marriage's, no sex etc. I suppose it could happen again but according to the Bible God knows all, so would that not be in the Bible? There is also suppose to be a new earth and a new heaven, does that mean it starts over?

The Angels were created good by God were submitted to a test to prove their worth as Adam and Eve were (the tree of knowledge) some chose to rebel and the greater part of them chose to obey. Some say the Angels were presented with the incarnation: Jesus and His most pure mother.

Maybe god (lower case g) wanted a balance of Good and Evil, but the bible was after all written and translated from different languages, authored by various people and generally a load of BS.
So who's to say god wasn't a Korean drug lord, it would explain the weird sh!t like the platypus.

The accurate account of the creation of angels and how the devil came to exist is not in the bible. Jesus gave it to us in The Apocryphon of John. No one who has known God has rebelled against Him.
