You should not forget that different locations of the body for tattooing feel different levels of pain.
You may feel less pain while getting tattooed on the hands and feet.
In fact your sternum, ribs, hands, and feet are very sensitive for this purpose.
Some other parts of the body such as the ankles, lower back, neck, under arm, around the groin area and head are also good location for the tattoos.
The least sensitive areas, which are generally most popular for the purpose of tattooing, are the upper arms or forearms, calves, shoulder blade, outer thigh and bottom.
There is no doubt that the genitals are the most painful location for a tattoo.
You should imagine that beautiful tattoo on your skin. This will certainly help you forget the pain behind it.

Without a doubt, different people feel pain to greater and lesser degrees. It's also true that different parts of the body are more and less sensitive. Areas that are fleshy (upper arm, calf, abdomen) tend to feel pain less than areas close to bone (an ankle, elbow, or the spine, for example). Some people will describe it as a hot scratching sensation while others will feel something more acute. Some people will wince and practice a breathing exercise to control the pain while others chat casually and even seem to doze. It's also remarkable how much of an effect your tattoo artist can make, both physically and mentally, on your experience of pain in the tattoo process.

Depends stay away from anywhere on your spine, and around any bones. Those have always been the most painful spots when I have gotten my tattoos. To be honest the ones on my collar bones hurt the most. Anywhere with a bit of muscle hurts as well at first because your muscle is tense after that its not so bad. Any time you get a tattoo it hurts at first then that area goes numb and you don't feel a thing.

RE:
Least and most painful tattoo spot?
So I've been wanting a tattoo for a very long time and I have a few ideas on what I want. I can take pain to a certain level (I have 8 piercings, 2 on each lobe, a double on my left ear [orbital], cartilage and eyebrow) none really bothered me much and were all done with needles. Where's...

I have both my lower hips/back those weren't to bad but by the spine it felt more like a burning feel.. And I have both my outter thighs done and had 4 hrs one one and 6 on the others and those were not bad at all able to carry a conversation during both and got a little sleepy during the 6 hour one. The spot eventually goes numb and its not bad at all.

It totally depends on the person. I searched relentlessly to find the most painful tattoo spotS, covering myself in the process. In my experience, ribs (most painful) biceps (believe it or not 2nd on my ratings) many neutral expected pain, least painful, chest or calf

I have 3 tattoos. One on my lower back, on the foot and on the lower left hip. My foot tattoo hurt way more than the others. Take into consideration that anything near or on a bone is going to hurt more than other tats on more fatty areas.
