To prevent: You may want to try wearing those slimming underwear that are available in almost all stores.
Get the capri style silky ones.
This will kind of hold things in so the don't rub against each other and the silkiness will allow thing to slip, not rub.
To treat:Use BodyGlide lotion. Helps chafing

Since you have to wear a skirt to school, try wearing soft cotton boxers under your skirt. Powder the affected area every morning with baby powder. Carry a small container of powder with you, if possible, so you can apply more when you use the lavatory.
When soreness does occur, use a zinc and oil ointment like DESITIN cream. it's made for diaper rash, but is the best thing to use.
Good Luck :-)

I'm gonna go w/ some of the other answers here and say try baby powder, but that only works depending on what I wear. Under skirts or anything else, I wear Spanx or a varation there of, and I don't have a problem......
They also make a spray that is supposed to solve that problem, but I would look it up or ask them in Target or where ever you shop, if they carry it.

I get it and I am on the bigger side, I used to wear skirt all the time, and usually, it happened when I sweat and there was friction, so powder was out. I used monistat soothing care, desitin, and cold wet wash cloths. Use monistat soothing care during the day, then if you do chafe, then ice and apply desitin. I know someone who gets it on their boobs, and I thought I had it bad. I know how bad it gets in school though. Mine actually got so bed it started to bleed once, I think it was in gym.
Hope that helps.

im an average sized guy. but i used to play soccer, and run track. And I got the same problem. When you come out of the shower put baby powder in the area. But to remedy it right away use cortaid. Use the baby powder, too. Or try shorts that dont allow your thighs to rub. good luck

One, wear cotton clothing, or natural fibers. Avoid synthetics as they don't "breath" trapping heat and moisture causing a rash. Second, try to use cream before you go to bed, something for rashes. It will give it time so "soak in". Use powder, too - not with the cream, but before you get dressed. Make sure you are wearing clothing that fits, otherwise if its too loose, it causes it to gather and rub, if its too tight, it's going to cause friction.

when they get red apply zinc oxide cream (Desitin) to the red areas, this will heal them up quickly. Every morning apply baby powder to the skin, and wear pants instead of skirts. The bare skin rubbing together is what is causing your problem.

It's called chafing, it used to happen to me until i lost a lot of weight. don't wear skirts, and if you do, wear biker short tights, so the skin doesn't rub. also baby powder ( i use gold bond) helps a lot too.

There is a cream for that. I believe it is made by Monistat and can be found in the feminine hygiene section of your pharmacy. I have the same problem and it has got to be one of those most uncomfortable things ever!

Why don't you apply vaseline (petroleum jelly). You'll only need a tiny covering, it'll be invisible to anyone who dares to look up your skirt and it will help your thighs glide together rather than have friction.
