Do you mean 20/13 or 13/20; neither one is a standard measure.

The top number specifies the distance you were standing away from the chart and the bottom number specifies the smallest size of letter you could correctly identify. The sizes are the viewing distance at which that size letter subtends 5 degrees of arc. 20/20 is considered "average" vision. If the top number is bigger than the bottom number you have better than average vision; if the top number is larger than the bottom number you have worst than average vision.

So 13/ 20 means that you were standing 13 ft away from the chart, could see the size "20" letter and your vision is slightly worse than average. And 20/13 means that you were standing 20 ft from the chart, could see the size "13" letter and vision is slightly better than average.

You probably meant 20/13 vision. I don't know how to explain this, but it basically means that you have very good distance vision. Your distance vision is even better than the accepted standard of 20/20. In comparison to 20/20: So a person with 20/20 vision--the standard for good vision--is standing 20 feet away from an object. You could be standing farther back (I don't know how far, but it is less than 40 feet, which would be for 20/10) and still be able to see the same amount of detail that the person 20 feet away could see.

That means that you can see things only 13 feet away that you should be able to see 20 feet away. If you have this, then you really need glasses!

It means your vision is above average. It's related to angles and letter sizes and more complicated than most people think. It is not compared to anyone else's vision.
