Now the relatives have to pay taxes to feed that killer and give him all the comforts of home. When are we going to insist that killers get quick death and robbers get horrible punshment that will make other robbers think twice before commiting acts against honest people???

That's awful, we [the taxed] probably paid for the attorney that weaseled that deal for the killer too.

People have such messed up values and morals. The whole idea of focusing on the rights of the offender versus the offended feeds into that whole being a week person is good mentality.

Think of all the other things that the weak people of our world think and do.

"I'm to lazy to work so give me free welfare, retirement, and health care."
"I'm to stupid to teach my kids, so raise my property tax and let someone else do it."
"I'm to selfish to raise a kid, so let's slaughter it before it's born."
"I'm to much of an adult adolescent to believe in trying teenagers as adults."
"I'm to disorganized to get socially involved, so let's have more government programs."

We as hard working decent people have to raise a hand to make sure these weak people don't rule our country if we don't want to be in jeopardy of having a Communists standard of living.

relatives? we all pay for it even the convict! they have to work inside or dont get "good time" and they have times to eat sleep and go to work! if a tv among 50inmates is "having comforts" i guess youre right! other wise think...no pets no females no kids no cash and no civilian clothes. a plastic mattress with a flat pillow and eat what you get at the chow hall is a comfort! go there ...find out for yourself lol!

I agree with you. Our legal system focuses too much on nonviolent crime and not enough on violent crime, such as murder, rape, and robbery. It's pretty sad when a guy with a bag of weed can go to jail for just as long as a rapist or a robber.

It seems very unjust.

It's also something that you need to petition your legislators for. That's how most mandatory sentencing guidelines have been put on the books.

It has not worked in the past, why do you think that will change now?

The problem with the death penalty, is that it kills innocent people.

Do you really trust the government to decide who may live and who to kill? I sure don't.

The government has executed innocent people in the past, and the guilty person always went free.

Take the case of Jesus Christ, He was innocent, He was executed, and the guilty murderer Barrabas went free.
