I am 14 and I want to buy a particular item online but I havent got a debit or credit card and my mum says I am not allowed to get it I have got the money needed for the item all I need is a credit card and I cant use one of my friends, can someone please tell me the steps to get a one-use (disposable) prepaid card.

You can go to the supermarket and buy prepaid cards but they are usually amex. You can also get them at the bank. Good luck.

You are not old enough for a credit card but you can open certain bank accounts which have a debit card at 14..my son has one its a card plus account with natwest.

There are plenty of places these days, becoming more popular, but even though they are pre-paid, not sure if at your age you would get one. Your mother sounds sensible, at your age anyway you should start learning financial responsibility. Surely, if you saved the money and gave to her, she would buy the item using her credit card?

I've never heard of a pre pay visa or mastercard but thats a great idea!
