yes definitely. I would increase police presence by at least 4 fold, and arm them . I would also introduce neighbourhood dog patrols, and commision remote islands as prison colonies.

Yes and certainly more decent ones. I live in a village in Devon and we never see a Police Officer despite the crimes. It's all swept under the carpet and of course it's not crimes, but "incidents" whatever they might be. A Police Officer was in the local pub last night, admittedly off duty, but never the less watched under age youths being served alcohol and a number of people leave the pub well over the limit and get in to their cars. From what I could see she and her Husband, also a Police Offricer were too drunk to even notice what was going on. Is this the right example to set the public?. I don't think so!!!.

I think police officers jobs are getting more and more difficult due to the paper work involved. In my opinions the government should investmore money in employing adminstration support services for the police so the police officers have more time to do the policing then paperwork. At the moment police officers are doing both and this obviously means less administrative support

We need better ones, i phoned the police today after being threatened by a couple of nomarks, they did arrive but about 4 hours later after everything had blown over and everyone was gone! Whats is the point of an emergency service that doesn't turn up in an emergency? Its about time the police were disbanded and a system which actually works is brought in, because the UK police are completely useless!

These days any self-respecting criminal would know exactly what time to commit a crime, and how to deflect attention away from the area in which they are committing the crime.
If I was a criminal I'd be very successful. However, I was taught good morals when I was a child. So I'll just live with my conscience and pay my tax to the robbing bastard government instead.

Yes we need more Police but there would be more Police if the government stopped making them fill in paper work after paper work. most are decent theres just some who aren't

yes i do think a visible police presence in the community is what we need to go back to, if only to keep the innocent feeling safer. It is a shame that they can't also bring back a clip around the ear for the youngsters who act unsocially. Nip their behaviour in the bud, though nowadays that is not possible, they would only shout they had been violated.

It would be easy if we change the definition of crime. For socialism, crime is anything they want to put in laws. For libertarianism, crime is damage to people and their properties.
When you look at it from a libertarian perspective, taking drugs is not a crime, wearing low ride pants is not a crime, having something hanging from your rear view mirror is not a crime, taking a bottle of water when boarding a plane is not a crime, owning guns is not a crime, having dogs without a license is not a crime...
The list goes on and on. If you take all the police force devoted to pursue non-criminal activities and put them after rapers, murderers, thieves and the rest, things improve immediately. Crime plummets down.
We should try. Next time vote for real libertarians.

Good question .... but i live ina very small village in Lincolnshie ( 15 Houses , 1 Church )... and iv never seen a Police car drive down my road in 9 years,,!!!..... WHY .... Well its pure British / White Anglo Saxon ....NO Blacks / NO Drugs / NO ASBO Kids ....I loved this place ..I can walk down the road with my shot gun and not a person gives a toss , because we dont shoot other people..!!!
Who the Hell needs the Police ... Self rule ..and ill Kill any Cu nt that wants to mess with me.... ( just hope your a kaffer....even sweeter )

1. many of our officers are over seas
2. you must be living in a mostly white neighborhood, because the lower income areas have plenty of police.
