He sounds like he's below average for a male at that age ... but nothing wrong with it ... not like he has any control over his height ... I didn't hit 5ft or 100 lbs until 10th grade ... so some people just take a little longer for puberty to hit ... !

Yes it's normal. Boys grow at all sorts of rates. Some have growth spurts later on. Many are still getting taller in college.
He will probably not ever be tall, he'll just fall on the shorter side of the normal range.

P.S. Don't tease him about his height. There is nothing he can do about it. And it will only make him feel bad.

He's what u call a short person, little people, short people don't want to be called midget... that's a bad word with most of them. Yes, he is short for the 7th grade...... I was like 5' 8" when i was in junior high.

Yes, it is he may have short parents or some very short people in he lineage. Also, not all young men who have slow growth spurts stay that way. I remember in my 8th grade class I was taller than most of the guys in my class by the time we were in teh 12th grade they were taller than me.

yes it's very normal, especially for that age, most boys don't grow during the middle school years, but the girls do. Don't worry, he'll catch up. And probably by the time he's in the 9th grade, he'll be taller than you.

There are plenty of shorter peole who arent midgets....
When I was in 8th grade I had two dudes in my class who only came up to my chest, and its not like Im some giant. They were both my friends, and one of them was actually really cute...yeah, we had the crush thing going, but never went out.

Short people exist in our world...it's "normal" to be short at any age, if you're a short person. However he does sound like he's going to be a short adult as well.
