Just try not to let your shampoo, conditioner, etc. get on it.

You can shower and wash your tattoo with orange Dial Antibacterial soap.

It'll be fine.

No, it does not count for showers. BUT, you do not want to overdry the tattoo by taking too many showers thought!

Generally, it is okay to take a shower after getting a tattoo and during the healing process. However, make sure that you use a gentle soup (nothing too harsh or with strong fragrance). Afterwards, PAT it dry. Do not rub it since this will damage the healing process.

I always used "tattoo goo" for aftercare. This keeps the tattoo most when it's scabbing/healing.

Here's some tips for you that may help you

*Remove the bandage in 24 hours. DO NOT RE-BANDAGE.
*Wash with Mild Soap and Cool Water 2-3 times a day.
*Good Lotion (unscented) 3 or 4 times a day.
*No Sun, Saltwater or Chlorinated Water for 2 weeks. This means no Baths, Swimming pools, Ocean or Jacuzzis (no soaking in water) for 2 WEEKS.
*A protective scab will form in about 2 days. It is there for your Protection. LEAVE IT ALONE!!
*Your Tattoo should heal like a Sunburn. I takes 8 weeks to completely healed. Which means a new layer of skin had formed over your new tattoo.

you shouldn't soak in a bath or swim in a pool but you can absolutely shower. just make sure that the water doesn't beat down directly on the tattoo. when i get my back tattooed i don't face my back towards the water for about a week. i wash my tattoo with soap and my hands only and i pour water over it from a cup. pat it dry and your tattoo should heal just fine.

Showering is fine especially due to the location of the tatoo. Washing it 12-24 hrs after helps decrease the risk of infection. They say avoid overexposure to water because chlorine from pools will fade the tattoo. If you put the lotion they recommend on it and keep it clean, you'll be fine.

Some people are misleading you and giving you tons of false info.

You can take a shower but try not to get soap on it - if so no biggie AVOID HOT WATER - this will sting like hell and cause a possible infection and swelling of the area......

NEVER rebandage with the same bandages.....

Petroleum Jelly or Vasoline ONLY on a Tattoo- No lotion!!!!! NO Neorsporin (unless infected) these will take your ink out and fade you. WTF where do people get their info from?!?!?!

Let air get at it for a while 3-5 you will be healed - if you follow the directions.

You're fine having a shower, they mean don't keep the tattoo in water for a longer time.

No, showering won't bother your tattoo. You should just try to avoid having it in the direct stream of the showerhead. Just don't be in there forever or soaking in there and your tattoo should be fine. Just pat it dry when you're done and then put your ointment or lotion on it.

it's ok to shower just don't stay in there too too long. Your not suppose to soak it (ex. baths, pools, etc.) for 2 weeks. Wash gently with dial antibacterial soap, and follow your artist's aftercare directions. Good Luck

They just don't want you to submerge your tattoo in water...like a bath or swimming. Showering is fine.
