luvdalz: how did the majority of fish survive?
Spiritual Gunslinger: "coleoptera" ARE beetles. YOU are a moron. It doesn't mention "700,000" directly, but it DOES mention 350,000. Multiply that by two and you get 700,000. Going to have to try a little harder next time.
I swear, you christians try so hard to pretend you have IQs above room temperature, then you spew forth this brainwashed drivel and act like it proves anything beyond your own ignorance and inability to think rationally.
In answer to the original question: he didn't. It is a fairy tale, and not even a very good one.

He didn't. Noah only brought with him air-breathing land animals (Only animals with nostrils), that is, only animals that would drown in a Flood. He wouldn't have brought any insects. Whenever you see a local flood and after the water has drained off and you walk out into the sediment, what's the first thing you see? Zillions of insects! Insects can survive a flood just fine, by either burrowing in the mud or leaving eggs in the sediment or water that will hatch later. They can also survive on floating carcasses.
Also, Noah would only need to bring two of every "kind" on the Ark; even if he had brought beetles, he would only needed to bring two of the "beetle kind" on board, not hundreds of thousands of variations that have occurred since.

You have 700,000 different beetles, because you have variations within a kind. That's not evolution.Their still beetles. When you do the math, and account for how many kinds, not variations, your number of animals greatly decreases. The number I came up with was about 16,000 when I broke it down.

wow...talk about misdirection....let me ask a question, and put encylopedia britannica as my source...seems very legitimate, and what christian dares argue with Britannica?
Only...i went to the link...article is 149 words long, talks about "coleoptera" and makes no mention of 1) 700,000 or 2) Noah.
so...why include the reference...
(siwwy wabbitt....twix awe fow kids - going to have to be work a wee bit harder at setting up a "scientific" question)
