Don'[t know about NHS..

But you have to be at least 100 pounds overweight to be approved to do the surgery.

I have the gastric banding... you CAN get it on the NHS but there is a long waiting list for it.

You have to be at least sixteen stone before they will even consider putting you on the list. You then have to have councelling because its so final. There isnt any reversal procedures either.

Its not just a case of the doc letting you have it done, the specialist has to agree that the surgery is the best way forward for you.

Gastric banding is seldom carried out on the NHS, it is quite a dangerous procedure. The last one of my patients who went away against my advice and the advice of an NHS surgeon, and had it done privately nearly died on the table.

Unethical surgeons can be found to do inappropriate surgery privately, if you look hard enough, but overall you are not heavy enough to even consider the procedure as justified.

Go and take up a decent amount of exercise instead, it will have other massive health advantages as well!

you need to be at least over 16 stone to get it done but they take into consideration age and other things....

you can get it done on the nhs but the waiting list is over 2 years..

no. you dont qualify, you should have at least lost some weight by dieting first or they wont even consider you, you could get it done privately at a cost of 4,000

i was thinking about it once because i was a size 12 and the doctor wouldnt give me it...

Why don't you try the Lighter Life diet - it works wonders ( my friend lost three stone in 10 weeks ).It re-educates the way that you eat under controlled conditions. You will also get Group support and the aid of a Counsellor.

visit my profile and I can then get a better understanding of why you are so desperate right now. I would like to help.

Best wishes

forget all that pap..... just exercise and stay single for awhile.... that'll get you in shape. keep it simple. fruit....veg and a balanced diet and gym. job done. anyone who says otherwise is either trying to sell u something or has never lost weight.
