You can conquer the fear of public speaking through practice and experience. The more you do it the more you will become better at it. I used to be like you until i found these great tips that has competely eliminated the fear.

1. Know your topic well. What is it you want to convey your audience. You can even write down your main points on a sheet of paper to help you remember. Remember, people want to listen to what you have to say. Give it to them. Just talk, you don't have to be perfect, no one expects you to be perfect. People are human and will understand if you make mistakes.

2. Be yourself. Don't try to act like so and so or talk like a specialist in public speaking. Even the greatest speakers out there started out like you. With time, your skills will improve.

3. Add humor to the speech. Give examples from your past experiences. Getting people to laugh will help you relax and also engage your listeners. You don't want to bore people with encyclopia like speech.

4. Be ready for handle your audience response in a positive way. Some people will work out, others will yawn while others will give you looks of dissaproval or approval. Is is okey to get negative responses, and don't think it's necessarily because your speech is boring or non-sense. Someone could be yawning because they didn't have enough sleep the previous night. They could be tired. Whatever. Just continue talking, deliver your message and try to keeep the remaining audience interested. Even if everyone walks out, you can learn from the experience and use it for the better in your next public speaking. Joke about it to your next audience. Use the experience to your advantage. Don't ever agonize over such experiences, you will loose track and fail in your efforts.

Good luck.

Public speaking is actually the most feared action in the United States today, so don't feel alone. You can help with this by speaking infront of one person and then slowly gaining more people. Start with close friends or family. It also helps to know a lot about what you're talking about. Work on eye contact and speaking loudly. Try taking a public speaking class, those help a lot.

Bring your girlfriend/boyfriend and focus on that person. He/she should make you feel comfortable enough to speak. Act like you're talking directly to him/her.

practice, practice, practice. At first, it's like ripping off a bandaid. But the more often you do it, the easier it gets, and eventually you end up liking it.
