He came inside after he was stung and it looked all right, by about 11 it had swollen a little more with a giant lump at the sting. When he woke up today his whole hand was swollen. What should he do, he's never been allergic to bees?

Swelling after a bee sting is common. The best thing to help bring the swelling down is put ice on it for about 20 minutes then take off for about 2 hours and repeat this as often as possible. This should help reduce the swelling. If the area starts to itch really bad try not to scratch and put and ani itch cream on it. I have heard that mud is really good for a bee sting.. I would keep an eye on him and the area where he is stung and if you notice any unsual changes then I would definately call your doctor.

He should take an antihistamine (like Benedryl) and put hydrocortisone on the actual area that has been stung.
He can take Tylenol for the actual pain.
Some people find that baking soda and water helps also.
If he starts to have any TROUBLE BREATHING, or swelling in the face or neck.....go to the ER.
The swelling should go done soon, if not get treatment.
Also, make sure the stinger is out. A credit card is helpful to scrape it out so that it doesn't break off in the skin.

He is either starting a bad reaction, or starting an infection. Take him to the doctor, today!
If he ever gets stung again, give him a Benadryl immediately!
Scrape the stinger out with the side of a credit card, and wash it with antibacterial soap.
Use a paste of meat tenderizer with water, applied to bandaid ant taped in place over puncture. [ after stinger removed, and area is clean ] - helps prevent the histamine reaction that causes the pain and swelling.
Apply ice if available.

He really needs to just go ahead and see a Doctor. They can give him a shot to stop the swelling and letting it just go on is dangerous. You can become allergic to anything anytime in your life. PS I agree with taking a benedryl immediately. My oldest son is allergic to most insect stings/bites and we keep benedryl on hand for it. Then go to the Dr.!
