No. I do not attend church. It's organized religion. The "rules " are instilled upon society based upon a congregation's belief system. If we are unable to follow along in a cattle like procession; then we are "going against god"(according to the rules of the church). Also, I have issues with the donation basket: "Keeps the church expenses down." So why is the Priest driving a new High Ended SUV, while members of the congregation are less fortunate and in need of a multitude of basic necessities? Let us not forget all of those law suits involving child molestation. How can that person be acting in a "God-like manner"? By the church hiding these perverts; Wouldn't that make God a pedophile?" We are all created in God's image....."
Aggrivated by that statement? Exactly! What about CCD classes(i.e.- Catholicism). Do not attend church? Well, then, considered an unacceptable candidate for some religious rites of passage. How can an infant commit sin from inside its mother's womb? Another fundraiser-like event to send Father Collar to Hawaii. "Sure, just donate a few bucks so we can pour water over your child's head..... Use new SIN BE GONE avaliable at your local church. Cures and frees individuals from sin and nasty relatives".
I believe that my Higher Power is everywhere and not confined to one particular building. My problems, issues and concerns in life are meant to be shared with that Higher Power- not the congregation and their hypocritical views pertaining to ones lifestyle. Ones actions must be dealt with in an appropriate manner; not by hiding behind some religious text that human kind has modified. Religion should be taught at home without the politics.
Once again, I proudly state: "No. I do not attend Church." It doesn't make you a better person because you pray. It just provides religious hypocrites a soap box to stand upon.
"Say three Hail mary's. One Lord's Prayer. Your sins will be forgiven. Dont forget to donate at Wednesdays all night Bingoathon." Amen!!!

No. I have attended at two times in my life. When I was a small child, my family was very active, and also pretty poor and large (6 kids). When we went to a church picnic, my family did their best to bring all we could...but when we go to the table, there was no food left...and the big wigs of the church had their several plates of food at their table. My dad figured they didn't have anything on him as far as taking care of the flock...and he vowed to never go back. He and my mom grew up during the depression...they knew what want was, and they didn't like the selfishness they saw displayed. We never went back, although we still read the bible nightly, and on Sunday had a long family service in the evening.
When I was in my late 20's, early 30's, with two kids 3 and 1, we started to attend a local church at the suggestion of our neighbors. We went for two or three years. Two things happened that influenced my view of church attendance.
First, our deacon, a man we knew very well and were I suppose close to personally, tried to commit suicide. My wife was one who was there when he was found and transported to the hospital. A huge meeting run by church elders reassured the members that the newspaper article referring to a suicide attempt by a local deacon was NOT our deacon...they lied through their teeth. The truth came out eventually.
Second, there was a member that was terrorizing children...small children. He was in his mid 40's and was somewhat developmentally disabled as a youth in a car wreck. He would grab at kids, in appropriately. My kids were afraid of him. At least one boy had been molested by him, although the parents didn't press charges to protect their son.
After meeting with the elders a number of times on the issue, he tried to grab my daughter (age 5 or so). I confronted the elders and I brought scripture in hand; this man is one of those that Jesus said would be better off with a millstone on his neck, and cast into a river...I told them that he had relinquished his right to be among our children. They told me I could press charges if I wanted, but they would not bar him from the church.
I did some digging (this is when I found out about the molestation) and found he was the son of a very old and weathly family; a family that donated a lot of money...and thus the real power behind the church was revealed. We left and I will never darken the door of a church again. I can worship much better, and much more safely, without them...

Assuming you mean "Do you" instead of "du," no, I don't, especially considering my religion doesn't have (or have need of) a church. If I was incorrect in my assumption that by "du" you meant "do you," then I need to know the definition of "du" before I can give an accurate answer.

I used to attend church services; and used to be a deacon too. I found out though at that time; they (multiple types of congregations) do not follow scripture; they follow man's addition(s) to scripture.

Yes - I attend weekly Mass, and try to get to daily Mass a couple of times a week. But my thoughts and worship of God happens everywhere.

Yes. One of the benefits of working at a Convent is that I get to attend Mass on a daily basis.
