Question Details: As a Christian how do you feel about this? It's fantastic that majority of the hostages were released.
In exchange, S. Korea has to removed their troops and prevent christian missionary work in Afghanistan.

I've been praying for their release, and thank God they're out. They weren't missionaries per se, they were providing humanitarian assistance. I think the taliban are aware that their agreement won't necessarily keep christian koreans out of afghanistan, but they realized the whole ordeal wasn't making them look too good.

I would say Korea got the better of the deal.

They are removing 200 soldiers who were already slated to be removed in December. (Looks at calender, sees that December was soooo far away). In response, I suppose the U.S will put in 5 more A-10s and that would replace the Koreans.

As for preventing missionaries...the Korean's also know this is just ever so enforceable. Maybe their people won't go into Afghanistan, but can they be stopped in raising resources for the other missionaries going in?

oh..one other thing...notice the difference...christian missionaries - willing to die for belief, but not willing to kill for it. Taliban - willing to die for belief, but more than willing to kidnap for it.

Life is what is important, if the crazy taliban were willing to offer lives in exchange for not being woken up on Saturday mornings, then I think it was a great deal. Especially if I was on of the missionaries family members.

Do you think this will stop the missionaries? They will be back in bigger numbers, which will just add more fuel to the fire.
