I don't know about Michigan specifically, but I just called my artist (ink/piercings) in Massachusetts, and he accepts out of state ID -- he just needs to have something on record that identifies you as being 18 or over.

Good luck with your piercing!

Any government issued ID should be accepted.
At the shop I used to work at we accepted
Drivers Licenses
State ID
Military ID
Passports
and any picture id (school ID) w/ a Birth Certificate.

And we'd accept in state, out of state and out of country.
These are all valid forms of ID, no matter what your doing.

usually you have 30 days to change your license.

However I am from Texas and I went into Louisiana and got a tattoo at 17 even though I didnt live there

you should be just fine and able to get a piercing

Any official ID does as long as it shows you are 18 years of age. Good Luck on School
