I need help with this one. I do belive that God will give you answers to help you solve your problems, sometimes through a thought that may suddenly pop in your head or you will be directed to a verse in the bible. I have been having a problem that is tearing me apart for the past few months and have continually asked God for help and for a sign as to whether I will get what I've asked for or for comfort or guidance. One day at my workplace (I work at a resort) I met a very nice elderly couple & chatted with them for a while and felt great after meeting them. The next day I went to their room again and they were not there, but on top of their refreshment center, which is what I was checking, their bible was open and one verse was marked in parentheses. It was John 4:35 which reads "Don't you say, 'In four more months the harvest will be here'? I'm telling you to look and see that the fields are ready to be harvested." I feel that this was meant for me, but...

I'm not sure to its exact meaning. Does it mean that what I want will happen in four months, or perhaps that what I want is already there and I just have to take it. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I don't know what it means for you, but the general meaning relates to bringing people to Christ, "harvesting" them for God.
But often God uses scripture to speak a specific word to a person in some way that applies to his specific life. I think only you can interpret that or someone who has a word of knowledge specifically about your circumstances can do it. I have such word and don't know whether anyone here will have a word or not and how you could confirm it if they did.

I am not religious mind you, however it sounds to me what you have been working for will come in to fruition.
Considering we are coming to a harvest time pretty soon just for the seasons. It means abundance. However you still have to gather the harvest to get something out of it. So end of a cycle and a new opportunity could be something you can build on.
As I know too the bible is not meant to be taken literally, but that would be my best guess.

Yes. I believe God uses people, like the elderly couple, to give you a push. The verse may not mean in "4 months" your problem will be solved. It may mean something else. I would pray about it and see where God takes you. "Be Still and know that He is God." God will help you out. Just hold your life up to Him and ask Him what the verse means.

You people who think god is talking to you and sending you signs should be pronounced clinically insane. It's no different than a child talking to an imaginary friend....except they are children and you're a freaking adult!!!! Grow up already no one is talking to you or sending you signs. Get a good psychiatrist.
