I think that statement is a threat against God.
He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision. Ps. 2:4
According to the Bible Mr. Dawkins is a fool.
The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt,
They have done abominable works,
There is none who does good.
The definition of fool is:

Mr. Dawkins has broken the Ten Commandments just like the rest of us and he has to face God on Judgment Day. He needs to repent.

Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” John 8:58

I think there is a lot in the old testament we can't and do no understand about God, the culture, their religion etc. etc. I can see why some people would say that about God from some of the scriptures but there are just as many scriptures about him being a loving God.

I disagree, because extensive descriptions of what God has done on behalf of humans are disregarded entirely. These descriptions are far greater than any out of context negative things. What kind of scientific accuracy is one that picks and chooses ideas out of context in order to establish some point?
When some who don't believe in God accuse some religious people of that, this indicates that this is not the way to achieve any kind of real consistency of ideas. Now are the atheists going to do the same thing?
The truth is, God justly and fairly punishes us according to our actions, and our faith in him. Check the context, people, check the context.
Regarding the death of children, God always gives humans the option of repentance. The parents of the Egyptian firstborn, for instance, were instructed that if they wanted to save their children's lives, they had to put lamb's blood on the door posts. Those who did not do that are responsible for the death of their children, Nine plagues had already taken place, and it was clear that they came from the God of the Hebrews.
Apparently many of thousands had been spared, because when the Israelites left Egypt, they were accompanied by a "vast mixed company".of non-Israelites. Exodus 12:38
God puts life and death before us, not eternal pain or eternal bliss. That eternal torture idea comes from Babylonian mythology. Jeremiah 7:31, Revelation 21:8
2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of Jehovah are roving about through all the earth to show his strength in behalf of those whose heart is complete toward him.
Humans tend to pass the buck so to speak when it comes to their own wrongdoing - Adam started that trend. "The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit and I ate it." Genesis 3:12
God also rewards righteous conduct, faith and loyalty. He puts life and death before us, but we must choose life.
Ezekiel 18:32 “‘I do not take any pleasure in the death of anyone,’ declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah. ‘So turn back and live.'

You know the more ppl post about Richard Dawkins the more the Holy Spirit yearns in me to pray for him - he's such a sad, lost & lonely man. Thanks for this question - i'm blessed to have the privilege to lift him up to my heavenly Father for healing.
Lord have mercy - Lord have mercy.

Its written in the bible (especially the old testemant) for everyone to see. its an absolute fact. Put the book in the 'Horror' section of any good book store, take away the name 'God' and there isn't a person in this world who could argue against it

I'm a Christian and obviously think he's mistaken. Kind of sounds like he has had a bad experience of some kind.
I plan on reading his book though. I'm just too curious to hear the rest of what he has to say.

Richard Dawkins is an entertainer (author and television personality). You might not find him entertaining, but obviously some do. I am an atheist, I find him at times interesting and at times a bit silly. He sometimes over-reaches to make his point and is purposely inflammatory to get attention. This is typically what people who are trying to sell you something do, people from either side of the fence.

richard is entitled to his opinion.
while I don't agree, I don't see a need to harm him like the muslin would feel need.
the god I love and worship is capable of dealing with him in his own time. Jesus died for richard's sin just like he died for mine.
I can only hope he changes his mind and accepts Jesus as savior. He is a man who is wrong. not a monster

Richard Dawkins seems to have alot of issues to settle with the guy upstairs so I suggest you take anything he says with a pinch of salt. You can't hate some one like that and then call them a work of fiction. If he truly believes god doesn't exist why all this bullshit? The guy has problems and I mean BIG problems.
