Some politicians like Newt Gringrich are now asking fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming.

Has Newt discovered that fighting the misconceptions of the majority is a losing political battle?

After all, if the majority of the people believed the Earth was flat and the Sun revolved around it, what political purpose would it serve to oppose them?

The voice of the people is the voice of God.

Do you agree?

The politicians have to tell the people what they want to here if they want to stay in office.

Why do conservatives resist logic and science in the first place? They seem able to accept logic where no religious tenet is at stake. They will walk across an arched bridge accepting it won't fall down.... But, evolution and global warming set them off like someone stabbed them. I know those fly in the face of the bible, but eventually everyone finds out about the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.

But, no, you are wrong. The voice of the people is just the voice of the people. Politicians only accept God's voice because it is politically expedient.

Great strategy, huh? (1) Bombard the masses with bogus nonsense until they come to believe it. (2) Stand out from the crowd by questioning and refuting the bogus nonsense (3) adopt an "if ya can't beat 'em, join 'em" philosophy at election time to show that "whatever y'all believe, I believe. I ahm ur man. Vote fur me". Sickening.

No I don't agree. NASA, NOAA and the EPA all agree on the theory of GW. Maybe Newt finally came to his senses. When will you?
