Nowdays those updates happen within a few weeks or less. I've pulled credit reports on myself and found that the balance on my credit cards/loans was the same as my current month's bill.

Every time they get an update from a creditor. They have no control over how timely the creditors send the updates.

Most creditors send in a mass update each day that they send bills for those accounts that have gone through the end of a billing cycle that day.

They change once a month. -- but not every lender reports monthly to the credit file.

the credit bureaus update it when changes are reported by the creditor. your report can changes as frequently as your creditors report information.
