We were using F15's against their Mig's and Sukhoi's. The rules of engagment included them using our AWAC's system, us not being allowed to use AAMRAM's(radar guided long-range missles), not being allowed to separate from the indian forces by more than 7 miles or so, and every engagement had a us vs. them ratio of about 1:4. Basically, every strength our guys have, (AWAC's system, long range weapons, distance/speed, numbers), was taken away from us, while every strength that are present in russian-made aircraft, (short range, manueverability), was given to them. It was a completely unrealistic fight basically. Russian fighters' only realm of superiority is >7 miles, while our realm of superiority is between 7 and 35 miles, where practically every engagement actually takes place. If this engagement had been A. fought on realistic terms, and B. allowed us to use F22's, we probably would have shot down every one of them for zero losses. Look up the F22's record, in one exercise against F15's, they shot down 33 for no losses. And during another simulation against the best russian fighters in the world, it was 144-0, F22 coming out on top..

I don't think we should compare ourselves with Pakistan. In the world, if there is any poll, majority will agree IAF is better than PAF. PAF is purchasing Chinese fighters which are cheap (okay, I respect that) but are they really good enough to counter Su-30 MKIs or any fighter in the IAF? Pakistan should think themselves that how to better its qualities of its Air Force rather than comparing with IAF. They should compare but later. I don't want to hurt anyone, I am just giving my opinion. If anyone thinks I am wrong, I am very sorry.

The US was playing a game to build up the confidence of the Indian air force, so when they join us in the war on terrorism, they will think they're good? Geez, that's about all that makes sense, since Indians are usually sweeping the ground with brooms in order to not step on a bug.

E.S. Eskimo makes me laugh at his stupidity and ignorance. Our air force would destroy India's if it came down to it. we have the most technologically advanced air for in the world.
