Alright... To cut the caffeine headaches try cutting down slowly, switching over to diet, taking a tea extract (includes caffeine)... All of those things will help slowly get your body away from the caffeine addiction...
Curbing the craving... You just gotta do it... See if you can go 2 or 3 days then reward yourself with a can rather than that 20ox bottle... Then don't touch another for a week... By then you will feel so much better you may not even want it... Try drinking flavored water and flavored sparkling water... They worked for me...
What made me keep my determination was the amount of sugar in 1 20oz Pepsi and that I was drinking 3-4 bottles a day along with 1 triple Venti Carmel Macchiatto from Starbucks every morning... Ugh... I was killing myself...
Good luck... And I know its hard... I just kicked a lifelong love affair with Pepsi just over 2 months ago! And now if I want one (which is rare) I have a diet... I noticed I don't even finish them either... I normally just want a taste and toss the rest...

I gave up soda a while back, and the cravings were awful. I would stay away from those energy drinks like redbull, because they are so bad for you. I hate to say it, but you just have to get over the first peak using sheer willpower, and then it's smooth sailing after that. The first few days are really hard, but just take asprin or tylenol for the headaches, and drink tons of water. Also, if you drink lots of water, you won't be so thirsty to drink coke or whatever. The reason it's so hard is because you're addicted to the caffeine and sugar, and just like any drug, you have to get it out of your system and let your body adjust to not depending on it, so switching to coffee isn't going to do much good either. I know how hard it is, but it's worth it! I lost 10 pounds when I stopped drinking soda every day! Good luck!

Caffine headaches are the worse-however they should tend to end after the first 72 hours. Why not look at the positive side? Beat the headaches and know that by knocking out soda, your going to drop in size, better your health and drop reduction in some health factors? Isn't that enough to stop?
Replace the caffine-with water. Water is actually an essential need for the headaches-it's not only the caffine that is causing it-soda fills you up and sometimes is a waste of calories-those calories and carbs are being reduces causing some nasty little upsets in your system. Water will help regulate that loss.

If you get caffeine headaches this means you are caffeine dependent. Over half of the people in the US have this problem. This is not good. I would try easing off the caffeine over time. If you get a headache drink a little till it goes away, then over time drink less and less till the headaches eventually go away.

Green tea with Ginseng. Way too many of our youth are plumping up from soft drinks and junk food. Coffee gives me all the caffeine I need, but I'm no kid any more. Nor am I over weight. And, Yes, I drink both green tea and iced coffee.

So get caffeine from another source such as coffee. Coffee will also help speed your metabolism. There is a really good diet cranberry drink out made by ocean spray. You may want to start by switching from dark colas to light such as sprite and 7up. Good luck.

Vitamin water offers a series of canned energy drinks with natural caffiene in them and lots of vitamins. These drinks are carbonated so they might give you the feel that you are drinking pop.lol

We like bubbly, light, sweet, and fruity things, too, but refuse to buy soda 'cos it's poison (for you and the earth) in a non-biodegradeable bottle. We mix fruit juice and herbal tea w/ seltzer. It's lovely, and good for you and it fills that "need". Food manufacturers KNOW that sugar is more addictive and harder to kick than heroin. They're betting you can't quit. EVER. Prove to them they're wrong.
Think about it: You're paying $1.00 plus of your hard-earned money for a bottle of addictive poison w/ no nutritional value whatsoever and chemicals that will ruin your eyesight, dissolve your bones and teeth, render you a fat, impotent, diabetic sugar addict and put your dentist's kids thru college. I know what my choice would be...Learn to see through and to refuse the ploys of those who would rob and kill you with your own cooperation.
