I assume that you wish to know how automatic pistols work.

In simple terms, its all to do with pressure. A cartridge is loaded into the firing chamber (cocking) by grasping the bolt body and moving it backwards allowing the fresh cartridge to spring up from a holder called a magazine which normally is housed with in the handle of the weapon. "Cocking means loading a cartridge and resetting the firing pin mechanism"..

Once the cartridge is in position and the trigger is pulled, then a spring loaded mechanism called a firing pin is released which springs forward striking the firing cap which sits in the rim end of the cartridge. Once the firing cap explodes it sets of the Small charge held in the cartridge casing forcing the "projectile bullet" out of the casing and down the gun barrel at very high speed due to the pressure of the exploding gas. As the projectile moves down the gun barrel a small amount of the energy released forces the cocking bolt backwards (blow back ) which ejects the spent cartridge casing and allows a new cartridge to spring up from the magazine into the firing chamber. If the trigger is held then the whole process continues until the magazine is empty. (hence automatic) - If the trigger is released then the bolt moves backward under pressure allowing a new cartridge to load but is then stopped from moving Any further by the trigger mechanism locking pin. (semi Automatic)

Hope this helps..

The bullet has a percussion cap in the flat end. This is struck by the hammer when you pull the trigger. The resultant explosion causes the main charge in the bullet casing to explode and discharge the projectile.
And if you are a few yards away, duck.

They work INSIDE the same way they work OUTSIDE: THEY KILL PEOPLE.
