Or what would it take?

I think the General Strike is a waste of time.

The Democrats say the reason they are in power is to stop the war. Well they have been in power since Jan 07. What have they done to stop the fighting? Have they pulled the troops? Excuse me, forced the President to pull the troops?

They could immediatly pass a bill forcing funding to the Iraqi theater to stop. If the President vetos it every Democrat goes on radio, TV, My Space or where ever and say, 'We're not going to fund the war in Iraq any more. If it shuts down government, fine! As the last great Democrat president said, The buck stops here!'

Congress controls the budget. Congress CAN stop spending money in Iraq. And without funds the military cannot stay in Iraq.

Your strike isn't going to do a damn thing. Congress is going to have to do something IF they really want it stopped.

yes it will, you go out there and stand in front of the place of business you work at and hold your sign stating your on strike, and on 9/12/07 when your looking for a new job be sure to tune in to the news so you can hear how you made a difference.

No, it won't. First of all, not many people will fall into the idiotic concept. Secondly, those that do will just be looking for an excuse to take a day off. Third, missing a day's pay only hurts you and your finances. Fourth, even if enough idiots exist that have refused to educate themselves on the war and the enemy we face, our political leaders know enough to continue to fight this enemy. Even Hillary would keep troops in Iraq, when she suddenly realized "that's where Al-Qaeda is." It's all a campaign ploy to get votes.

I had no idea that there was a General Strike on 9-11. I have a feeling that a very small number of people would actually strike, though. The only way to get out of Iraq is to get Bush out of office.

It will have just as much effect on the war in Iraq as the one-day Gas Boycott did on the price of gasoline in the U.S. -- absolutely none whatsoever.

Pulling Us troops out of Iraq will not 'stop the war.'

All it will do is result in genocide as Iran, Syria and Turkey invade the country.

Why do you want to see millions of Iraqi civilians die?
