My 18mth old daughter's left nostril and her face had dry blood when i woke up last night at 3am to change her diaper. I, of course freaked out and didn't know what to do. This has never happened before.
She isn't in ANY pain what so ever because she's not crying or being fussy.
I figured she didn't bump her nose or hurt herself in any way because she would've cried.
I did notice that the air was dry, could that be a factor???

Dry air can cause her soft nasal tissue to dry and bleed a little. Its not like she was gushing blood. This can happen especially if she's dehydrated, and it has been very warm out lately.

Give her a lot to drink and dont freak out. Its okay. It happens.

Kids that age do things in their sleep too, like get an itchy nose and pick it till it bleeds. things like that.

Your best bet would be to contact her pediatrician. However, in the meantime try using a humidifier in her room at night to put some moisture back into the air. Chances are it is the dry air causing the nosebleeds, but you should consult with her pediatrician just to be absolutely sure that there is no other underlying causes.

Dry air certainly causes nose bleeds. Try putting a humidifier in her room and that will keep it moist in there. Just be sure to change the filter as required to prevent mold and mildew.

she may have bumped her nose, got digging for magical things up there, or the air in her room may be a bit too dry causing her nose lining to dry out and bleed. in any case I would not go rushing to the doctor right away.

your daughter is fine, sometimes, when the inside of the nose is too dry, it will get scratched and bleed. yes the humidity of the air in the environment is a factor.

Yes. Dry air is why your baby got a nosebleed. My son had a couple of nosebleeds when the air was dry and he is fine.
