Yes. Maybe you can start with family members or offer Moms just one hour breaks, even with them being at home. I'd love to have a good, responsible 12 year old who loved kids to come over so I can cook and straighten up while she took care of the baby. Moms need a lot of help, so do Dads, so ask around. I'd pay you, too!

I started babysitting when I was 11. The baby I watched was only 3 months old. I watched him day and night without help from anyone. He's now 6 years old and I still watch him every weekend. I think 12 is a good age, I wouldn't suggest watching a child under the age of 2. Its hard to watch a baby younger than 2 if you have no experience with them.

I have 4 kids and my baby sitter is 12. Of course, I started using her when I was only going for a short time. Now she can handle the kids for up to 3 hours before there are problems. I started when I was 12 as well

I started at 12 years old.. a couple hours after school and such is good I think. I would suggest a childcare class just to make the parents feel more comfortable. This includes first aide including CPR classes, you really should know that if you are caring for children. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes you are old enough to babysit. Start with family members and always show how mature you are.

Well...that would depend on the person who needs a sitter. Some might want a sitter with more experience and/or their own transportation. Good luck hun :)
