I had a friend in 9th grade who wore a scarf. She just explained that she was Muslim and that was what she did... it was fine by me!
Anyway, good luck to you. If people can't like you for who you are, then the hell with them!

If you were attending my children's school there wouldn't be a problem, but you aren't so it's really impossible to say.
From what I've observed throughout my life, I don't really think anyone will treat you any differently. After all, you are still the same person they've known all these years. I would assume they are aware of your religion, and have been for some time.
There may be some stares--ignore them. Better yet, smile back politely.
There may be questions--answer them as if you are genuinely happy to do so.
If there are problems, go directly to a teacher, guidance counselor, or the principal. They are there to help you, and harassment for wearing traditional religious garb is unacceptable. They will take care of this matter for you.
Good luck.

Some people may react strangely or suspiciously at first, but you need to remember to put your faith first. If anyone asks any questions, be prepared with an intelligent response that explains why you are wearing the scarf. You don't need to belittle them, or become defensive when they question you. Remember, it is a general rule that people will pick on or protest to what they don't understand. It is not up to you to change their minds, but be aware that if you give them a ridiculous response, or are hurtful in your tone, you will be giving your beliefs a "bad name."
Don't be hurt by those who protest to your scarf, but be strong, and go in faith.

Asalam Alaikum, sister.
Insha Allah, Allah will reward you for your efforts.
If those people are truly your friends, they wouldn't care how you dress, or what you look like! I know you've probably heard that many many times, but it's true! If someone asks why you wear the hijab, educate them.
Here is a lecture by Khalid Yasin, a brilliant Muslim scholar. He talks about the man and woman in Islam.

Here is another lecture by another brilliant Muslim scholar, Dr. Zakir Naik. He talks about the hijab.

Thank you for your time. I hope I was of some assistance to you.
Salam.

Don't care of what other students think of you, There are many mean student out there and with or without scarf they'll be mean anyway cause every student has to be "COOL" in their point of view forgetting that school is place to get education and not a modeling agency.

I am truly sorry to hear that you are being enslaved in such a fashion. This is the 21st century, not the 4th. Catholic nuns that wear a habit do so as part of their job, but your only in the 8th grade for pity sakes. Some may criticize me for my attitude, but I don't care. This is America. If people want to try to force you to wear a damn rag on your head remind them of this. YOU DON'T HAVE TO. We have a Constitution and a Bill Of Rights that protect you, My advice---Throw the damn thing in the trash and burn it like it deserves to be burnt. Or tell the guy that gives it to you and says that you have to wear it to WEAR IT HIMSELF AND SEE HOW HE FEELS WEARING IT! ! !

Its sad you are being forced to do something you don't want to do. Don't wear it. Say NO, I will suppressed no longer. I have free will and all this sexism can stop here and now.
You don't want to wear it, right?
If you do, then just do it and the rest will be burning in hell, right?

Live by the AMERICAN way. Leave it OFF. You will be teased. Appreciate the country you live in now, not where you came from.
