What do you think of this happening?
The meteors that are about to rain down in the early morning of September 1 date from around 4 A.D., the latest calculations show. It is not often that we can tell when a shooting star was first released from a comet into space, to travel as a meteoroid in an orbit around the Sun, and finally collide with Earth's atmosphere to shine as a meteor for our enjoyment. Most meteors that sporadically flash across the sky on a dark moonless night date from anonymous times. Only in recent years have we learned to trace young meteor showers, just a few revolutions old, to their date of origin. The oldest such shower, but only one revolution old, is due in the early morning of September 1, 2007.
1/3 of sun, moon, and stars struck so that
1/3 of them turned dark.
Sun did not shine for 1/3 of day.

Burning rocks of ice, hail, about the size of basketballs?
Bible says it comes upon "them" in 1Thessalonians 5:3,
them who say Peace and Safety in Law worketh Wrath.
Go hath NOT appt'd "us" unto wrath(law): 1Th 5:9.
No escape for "them" vs No law = No wrath for "us"?

You do realize that a meteor shower on Earth *might* affect the Moon but would be nowhere close to the Sun? As for stars, the closest is 6 or 7 light years away and a rock hitting the Earth would not even be a close encounter for the star.
What if tomorrow the sun isn't darkened and all 400 billion of the stars in are galaxy are still shining... I guess that you will have lost a lot of what little creditability you might have.

It is a meteor shower, not a Biblical prophesy. Meteor showers happen all the time. This particular meteor shower only comes every 2,000 years. Halley's comet comes every 75-76 years. The Perseids come back every year. It's basic astronomy. It's pretty medieval to put more meaning on it than that.

you are referring in rev. 8:12 to the sounding of the 4th trumpet. the 5th trumpet has already sounded (the Iraq war of 1991) so we know that the 4th has sounded as well.
however, the trumpets are ERAs of time & can possibly overlap.
since 1/3 of the day (4 hours) & 1/3 of the night (4 hours) is removed, our 24 hour day would eventually become a day lasting for only 16 hours.... so time is speeded up by 1/3.
this same event is what is referred to in matt.24:22 saying,
"And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened."
the previous scripture in matthew, 2:21 is speaking of the time of the great tribulation (satan's wrath) saying,
"For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."
the great tribulation will be 3 1/2 years before the battle of armageddon.
the saints of God will be persecuted for not bowing down to the authority of the antichrist, His one world government, & the mark of the beast. this persecution lasts for 3 1/1 years.
(it begins 3 1/2 years into daniel's 70th week at the time of the abomination of desolation... when the ac stands in the rebuilt Jewish temple proclaiming that he is God).
the tribulation will be so great, that if God had not speeded up time (the 4th trumpet), all the saints would be dead.
i believe that time will continue to speed up until satan's wrath begins, thus accomplishing God's goal as spoken of in matt.24:22.
how great is our GOD!!!!

I read the article and now where in there is anything about 1/3. It's wishful thinking Dear. Anyway these meteorites that will be "hitting" the earth will not (I should say most) actually hit the earth, because they will burn up in out atmosphere.

Err....The Earth gets hit with rocks every single day. It is a common occurrence, so stop making something out of nothing. This is the same as saying there is a prophecy that the Sun will rise.

NASA doesn't have anything on this. Neither does Hubble. The last meteor shower we had was just last month "Delta Aquarids". But nothing about another shower happening this month nor next.
Where are you getting this information? And how is it that NASA and Hubble don't have it?
