Muslims respect Jesus as a prophet. It is a misconception that Muslims do not believe in Jesus.

I do not know why some Christians resort to defaming the Prophet Muhammed. Jesus taught us acceptance and love among all. Why do many Christians attack other's religions?
I am not sure why the double standard there.

I am Wiccan, but I respect everyone's choice of religion.

Actually, almost all of the Muslim prophets are the same as the Christian prophets. Moses, Abraham, Jacob, and more are in both the Quran and the Bible.

The main differences would be in regards to Jesus, (whom the Muslims view as a prophet, but Christians believe was God), and Mohammed.

So, Muslims generally respect the Christian prophets because they are also Muslim prophets. Some Christians disrespect Mohammed because he is only a Muslim prophet, and not a Christian prophet.

If Christianity had some prophets that Islam did not share, I suspect that some Muslims wouldn't tend to be so respectful towards them.

For instance, if all Christians believed that Joseph Smith was a real prophet, (instead of only the Mormons believing in him), you wouldn't see Muslims writing "(pbuh)" after his name. Since Joseph Smith came after Mohammed, most Muslims would believe he was a false prophet.

Christians, of course, consider Mohammed to be a false prophet primarily because Mohammed stated that Jesus was NOT the "son of God" or any part of God at all. Mohammed stated that Jesus was a prophet. So, since Mohammed's teachings demoted the primary figure in Christianity, (Jesus), from God to prophet, the Christians considered Mohammed to be false.

Jesus is a Prophet who is reverred in Islam, so as a mark of respect, we say 'Peace be upon him' when mentioning his name. This is the case with all of the Prophets.

What Christians and others say about Prophet Muhammad (sall'Allahu alayhi wasalam) doesn't affect the way we respect Jesus or any other prophet before him.

Muslims do not insult Jesus to "get at" Christians, this would be a sin in Islam. We are commanded in the Qur'an against insulting other religions:

"And insult not those whom they (disbelievers) worship besides Allah, lest they insult Allah wrongfully without knowledge. Thus We have made fairseeming to each people its own doings; then to their Lord is their return and He shall then inform them of all that they used to do."
( سورة الأنعام , Al-Anaam, Chapter #6, Verse #108)

If one praises the prophets ,will he get heaven. and if one abuses prophets , will he get hell ??

One basic question is not addressed and that is no one is ready to cool down and sit and look within .. why the turmoil.

if some one praise me i am happy and someone abuses me i am angry.. this means i am controlled by external factors..

peace does not come from without, but comes from within.

If this basic truth is learned , then there will be no hatred agaist otheres Let any body shout any thing against any one.. Just laugh off the ignorant, and enjoy inner peace then only one can wish P.B.U.H. First peace be upon me.. e.i. P.B.U.M.

Because Muslims have to believe in all God's prophets and it is important to respect and love all of them, while Christians do not believe Muhammed, PBUH, was a true prophet.
Actually, every religion deny any religion came after it.

One more thing, true Muslim will never bash others' beliefs and symbols.

Peace.

These "Just can't imagine why?" answers are making my head hurt.

Muhammad taught Muslims to respect Christ as a prophet, hence the pbuh.

But he also told them Christians were polytheists & infidels, more of less worthy of death for promoting the heresy of Christ's divinity.

Got it? Love the Christ, kill the Christians.

Not really the sort of message that leaves your average Christian kindly disposed toward the Prophet of Islam.

To Muhammad, calling Christ divine, was joining god (Jesus) with God (Allah), aka. the heresy of polytheism. Here's a classic quote from the Quran:

"And when the sacred months are passed, kill those who join other gods with God wherever ye shall find them; and seize them, besiege them, and lay wait for them with every kind of ambush; but if they convert, and observe prayer, and pay the obligatory alms, then let them go their way, for God is Gracious, Merciful. Sura (9:5)

We say peace be upon him when mentioning any of God's prophets. Jesus (PBUH) is also a prophet of God, one is not a true Muslim if one does not love and respect Jesus (PBUH).

Because we love and respect Jesus/Isa (PBUH-Peace be upon him) as well as other Prophets of Allah (SWT).

Allah (SWT) tells us not disrespect another person's religion in the Qur'an. If we tell people this deen is correct, we have to act that way.

PBUH = Peace Be Upon Him

Its a sign of respect.

And stop hating the Muslims, they have the same G_D as the Hebrews and those that follow the Bible. YHWH is G_D.
