1Cor. 10:12
Don't be so naive and self-confident. You're not
exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone
else. Forget about self-confidence; it's useless. Cultivate
God-confidence.

The first rule in following God is to deny yourself, not promote
yourself or find yourself! Learning to love yourself is not the greatest love of all according to the Word of God. You find God, and he will teach you who you are. The first rule in following God is to deny yourself, not promote

I KNOW that I'm a christian and have that assurance because of the scriptures. Also I KNOW God because of what the bible says. But I'm not self-confident as to say I know everything about the Lord, because as you read his word you discover more, and more about His love, His compassion, His grace, His mercy......

A person who've repented of their sins, acknowledged that Jesus is Lord of their life will experience knowing how much He loves them - and realize that it's about Him not you nor me.

I think that you are right to a certain extent. But isn’t God still a mystery to all humans. Yes, I know, have faith regardless of the fact that we do not have physical evidence. But the only thing we humans can actually prove without a doubt is that we are who we are. With that in mind shouldn’t we nurture and care for ourselves. Shouldn’t we be allowed to be happy and carefree without it being detrimental to anything outside of ourselves and without going to an extreme? Aren’t we a product of God’s labor, shouldn’t we respect the almighty’s hard work and care for his product? Amidst life’s clockwork orange and catch 22’s, isn’t it most of the time about keeping level headed.

We are given the Holy Spirit by God to teach us all things. You are so correct when you say "God-confidence" because all confidence comes from God. The only righteousness in us is Christ. We are to crucify the flesh which is a very humbling thing. Jesus said, "come as little children," believing and humble.

Sometimes I ask the Holy Spirit, please don't let Jean show up. It is not easy to crucify the flesh so the Spirit can lead.

The first is love of God the second, love your neighbor as yourself. The problem here is most people really don't love themselves otherwise they would not go about destroying themselves in all kinds of ways. When God is the center of your life and you learn how much he loves you, you then learn how valuable you really are, then it is easy to change and love yourself and most of all others, because then you know how valuable they are to God too.

If we do not listen we do not hear. God speaks to me thru the Holly Spirit to better define what I will become as a Christian and when I listen and follow there is such a peace and joy that comes over me that I can not explain.

i know who i am, do you? It seems to me, that people who rely on god to explain their lives, to help with with their sufferings, to answer their prayers dont know themselves very well. Why would you have to pray, when you, as a human being, have the power to influence change, and to make things happen around you. You obviously dont know yourself well enough to be able to believe in your own abilities enough to where you dont have to depend on a superstition to influence your life, and instead, make life happen. Who really knows themself better? You or I. I dont know what happens when i die, but neither do you. You cant prove there is a heaven, thats why you have to constantly reassure yourself that it exists, and to make sure that you are constantly worthy of it, and to verify the conditions of entering heaven. You are just as unsure about heaven as i am about what happens to me when i die. No christian is strong enough in their faith to truely not be afraid because we dont know, when it really comes down to it, we just dont know. And as a human, fear almost always overtakes our minds in situations, so you will be just as scared when the time comes and you will question, and when you discover there is no heaven, you will scream in agony for all eternity at the life you had, and wasted.

God has already taught us who we are: He made Adam from clay and the rest of the humanity are his offspring through union of man and woman. He has taught us that we are his creatures made to praise Him, obey his Commandments, and to love His human creation and other creations.
