21 Gallons was the size of the tank unless you had the baby Ranger I4 then I believe it was 15.

I am the proud owner of a 2001 Ford Ranger with the Off Road package, and my dad drives a 2001 Mustang GT, and I can assure you that his Mustang rides better than my Ranger. Now whether to trade or not depends on what you are looking for in a vehicle. If you live in a snowy area or haul large loads, the truck, if it is 4X4, will be the better vehicle. If you don't live in a snowy area, and you don't haul large loads, then the Mustang will be a better vehicle. My dad's Stang does better on gas than my Ranger.

depends on what tank came with it. They had several different sizes available. Call the ford dealer with the VIN# and they can tell you what size your vehicle came equipped with from the factory.
