Unless you are physically present in VA you will not pay any income tax to VA. The fact that the company is based there is irrelevant.

Based on the information that you have provided you would only be subject to state income tax in WA and they do not have an income tax. Depending on the period of time that you have been outside the US you may be able to exclude some of that income from your federal income tax. You should see a tax professional familiar with foreign income exclusion.

imo, no

since you neither live in Virginia nor work in Virginia, that state has no nexus [connection] to you and therefore can not tax your wages.

of course, if you have some connection to Virginia, such as owning a partnerhsip interest in a Virginia partnership or LLC, then that income is subject to Virginia income tax. So would be interest earned on a bank account if the account is carried in Virginia.
