Hi
I like Hershey bars too.... I live in the US and I like different kinds of chocolates....the Hershey's with almonds are good.... and some people swear by Hershey's chocolate powder for cooking, rather than using the imported Dutch pack ....

I think you should try one of the larger stores that has a good fast turnover (meaning they sell a lot and therefore the stock on the shelves is constantly fresh) and try their things....I thought the wrappers had an expiration date, I could be wrong .... if this does not work, you might do as someone here suggested and order directly from the factory, or see if the website suggests a UK source ...

Assume that reader has yet to hear that Cadberry, Hershey, and a few other USA based firms want to keep words, "pure chocolate" on their label while changing the law to let them replace expensive import with cheaper fake chemical factory mix reportedly as sweet but of a "wax-like" quality. Yes, 'pure chocolate' will still be made available for those in the know, but lesser sorts who don't know which labels are fake will eat
cheap gunk from Hershey while paying real chocolate price.

God some of these people answers are just rude. I am from America and I love a good chocolate bar just as much as you. And funny but, I really love the Cadbury's chocolate bars you guys have in Britain that are not so easy to find here in the U.S.. But, all you have to do is go to Hersheys.com and they have a link on their site that is called "Fresh from the factory." click that link and you can order the candy bars right from their factory. It will cost you a few extra bucks(pounds) but, at least you will the chocolate fresh out of the factory. Or if you want I will be more than happy to trade you some Hershey's candy bars for some your Cadbury's candy bars. OK, I hope this helps you out and take care.

Hershey chocolate? Disgusting!
Even Americans I met said this (I'm neither American nor British). And I have to admit it's true!
You'd better have Swiss choc. It's more expensive - that's right (and anyway Switzerland isn't as far away from England as the USA are) but you really get good choc for the money!

If you live anywhere near Milton Keynes there is a shop that sells American products and you can get them there or you can buy them online at this website http://www.letseatdirect.com/cgi-bin/sh000000.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2eletseatdirect%2ecom%2facatalog%2findex%2ehtml&WD=hershey&SHOP=trlshop06111&PN=Hershey_s%2ehtml%23a034000024407#a034000024407

that is very tough. chocolate has a high amount of fat. when exported from the united states i am sure it takes a while before they are on the store shelves. i know a lot of chocolate makers have expiration dates on their product. but i know chocolate goes south relatively fast. maybe the product you are getting is not as fresh as the chocolate in the u.s.
