Why didn't Elvira Arellano talk to Felipe Calderon about improving Mexico instead of the USA?

Here in Mexico, I was watching the news. I saw that Elvira Arellano met with President Felipe Calderon about the state of immigration affairs in the USA.

My question is, why didn't she use this valuable time with a busy man to promote change in Mexico: How can we improve our own country so nobody has to risk death and deportation travelling illegally to another country? How can we create more jobs and provide more education to our future generations? Why don't we prevent people from travelling through the desert to the USA rather than giving them pamphlets on how to make the journey?

Because she doesn't care what goes on in Mexico. Her only goal in life is to get back in the United States to prove a point. Don't forget that she is being backed by many people including American politicians. How selfish is it of her to promote her own interests when she could have put the Mexican government on the spot for forgetting about it's poor for so long.

Because she doesn't care about Mexico. She would rather try to force Calderon to try to change the Immigration laws in USA so she can come back and get all of her freebies instead of trying to put Mexico on the spot for ignoring their own people for so long.

It sickens me what this woman is doing. She came here illegally, was deported. Came back, stole someone's identity (something we would be thrown in prison for!) then ran and hid like a child when she got caught. Whats even worse is, she has politicians and many us citizens approval.

Glad the damned no good freeloading carpetbagging scumbag is gone. Her son should go with her. He is only a citizen by the anchor baby policy. The pamphlets should misdirect them back to their own country. I am incensed with this whole ordeal. Our schools dont teach in english and are overrun with more and more illegal immigrants, who by the way do NOT work harder than anyone else. I was one of those poor white kids, grew up in Oroville, picked peaches, harvested rice, worked in a lumber mill pulling green chain, worked in a slaughterhouse as a meatcutter, operated machinery at RCBS and built houses and dug ditches in the Oroville 110+ degree summers, to name just a FEW of the jobs I held. So did most of my other fellow oroville friends. I am now a degreed engineer, but here is the key. My success as an engineer, and at all of the previous jobs was borne of the hard work and suffering I was subjected to, and I am damned glad I undertook it. I am equipped well rounded with a wide range of knoweldge on how to construct virtually anything. It made a man out of me, and that is more than I can say for most of the illegals. I paid my taxes without exception, and sure dint put anyone else out of a job by underbidding and working under the table. Elvira better not come back here again or her sorry *** is in serious trouble. There should be a mandatory 5 year HARD LABOR penalty for any illegal caught here a second time, and the same penalty for any employer who knowingly hires one. Costs 15 cents to verify the id of any workers SS #. Disallow any and all tax breaks to the businesses that do not verify ID. That will dry it up. They will self deport and we wont have to do much of anything.

Yours is an excellent question... in the wrong place. I believe, as someone else already answered, that she's following her own motivations. She's, shall we say, a sample of the illegal immigrants that want a better life elsewhere as opposed to those who stay and seek to improve their lot in their own country and that is the reason why she pushed her personal interests. In Mexico there is, regretfully, a widespread feeling that it is up to the government to improve living conditions for each INDIVIDUAL Mexican. But things don't work that way. Each Mexican has to study hard, work hard and participate hard in the life of their country for it to move forward. Mexicans have to study the political agenda and background of the politicians they elect and then, become watchdogs of their actions. No one writes to his/her diputado or senator. They vote following images rather than the full personna of the candidate, in the case of governors and presidents. And by the colour of the party when it comes to popular representatives. Most Mexicans work to fill time, not wishing to learn something extra because "no one will recognise it, I wont get paid extra". And because of the legacy left by the unions in the past, expect a yearly rise in wages independent of performance. When Mexican change their attitude, and I'm speaking in general, Mexico wont be seeing her sons going abroad.

The spoke the same language, and have the same goals, to make American not only their safety net, but make American pay both in terms of public relations and in USA dollars for Mexico failure to provide for their people, and for her lack of respect for our laws, so that she can live the life she wants at our expense

I believe it's because they want the USA to become Mexican and she is in league with him. Why else would Calderon applaud her efforts and why would he try to help someone who broke the law in Mexico, too?

Because she's a self-serving illegal -- like all of them. They don't care about their country and improving opportunity there. They only care about what they can get for themselves. She's enjoying her 15 minutes and her psuedo-hero status.

My question is why anyone in that government is bothering with this identity thief who has abandoned her child --- purposefully --- so he can be a pawn in her cause? That child should be seized by CPS and put with a loving and responsible family. He doesn't deserve to be used like she (and others) are using him.

It's revolting that they take such pride in being uneducated and too lazy to do anything except make babies, hustle, import drugs, join gangs, commit crimes, and demand U.S. government handouts and citizenship.

she was playing to her 'audience'. if she had done that, no one would listen to her as all the libs are here in America and have made her the cause celeb and their poster child.

if America is so bad, why does she want back in. why did she abandon her child...why didn't she obey our laws, why did she use a bogus id to get a job? she made her choice and now is whining about the consequences.
