u have to do 2 years diploma in culinary art to become a chef.

Not all chefs go to culinary school. Some of the Celebrity Chefl like Rachel Ray never attended but she did work in a restaurant while she was growing up. Experience and talent can replace education for some of us.

2-4 for a culinary degree depending on the college. Then if you want a Master Chef designation it takes a lot more. A lot of different jobs, moving around, writing, it's almost like doing a doctorate dissertation.

That depends on what education you have and experience. My son-in-law got his culinary arts degree in 4 years but could have finished in 2 because of his experience. he decided on the 4 year course so he could get a broader knowledge of cooking and earn his bachelor degree at the same time.
