I mean, He could make us be what He want us to be. If He don't want that, send a prophet. So that some will follow him, and some don't.

So he could show us that it's not impossible to follow the rules, and also give us a chance at Heaven by taking on all the sins and punishment himself.(Jesus)

The classical argument is:

1. God views sin seriously, and a price must be paid to atone for sin.

2. Only a human may pay it, because it is humanity which has sinned.

3. Only God is able to pay it, because humans are imperfect.

4. Therefore the only way that humans' sin may be paid for, is by God becoming a person, and paying the price as a person.

We might also add that by becoming a man, God
(a) showed us how to live and
(b) partook in human suffering.
Therefore God is not a "do as I say, not as I do" God.

[from Peter Ballard ]

====edit===

A prophet could not pay for your sins. Only God could do that.

And besides, if God did not become human, then people could claim that God didn't know how hard it was to obey God's commands. Now no one can argue that, because God became human and obeyed all of his own commands.

Because he is a spiritual being it would so hard for us to understand his mission. So Jesus became a human being just to let people know that there is really a God who cares and love them. He also show us that he experience every aspect of life, whether pain, problems and difficulties.

God never wanted to be human. And never has been human. You need to read your Bible. There are over 500 places that state that God is God, and Jesus is Jesus.
If God was Jesus why did he pray to himself for hours each day?
Do you believe that when God said "This is my son." that Jesus was being a ventriloquist?
John 1:2 "He was with God in the beginning."
OR
John 1:18 "No one has ever seen God,"

Seek and you shall find.

A sacrificial lamb was needed for the permanent removel of sin. It had to be "unblemished" and perfect, without sin. A virgin birth, and God loves his creation so much, he was willing to endure the suffering of humanity to save us.

So that his divinity could infuse humankind.

Jesus became an inseparable combination of human and divine so that we could become the same and share in his divinity as God's children.
