you tend to RETAIN WATER when you eat salt... that is why in the MILITARY, during basic training in the heat of July and August, they give the training soldiers SALT TABLETS so that they will not lose as much WATER from sweat.... Too MUCH salt can cause too MUCH water retention and you can become VERY ill from that as well.... Case in point... I recently became VERY ILL with congestive heart failure and pulmonary hypertension... I retained 65 POUNDS of fluid....the first thing my doctors did was RESTRICT SALT---actually they OMITTED all but 2mg a day from my diet... and I'm on a hefty prescription diruetic to remove any future water retention problems...... So, in answer to your question, you MAY sweat LESS when you eat salt, because you WILL retain more water... (and drink more as well as salt DOES make you thirsty)......

What a relief! I haven't been sweating as much as I did for more than 3 months now. I have thrown all my antiperspirants straight into the trash. Who would have thought it was so simple to eliminate excessive sweating, all without prescription medications...https://tr.im/StopExcessiveSweating

* Excessive sweating occurs without such triggers. Persons with hyperhidrosis appear to have overactive sweat glands. The uncontrollable sweating can lead to significant discomfort, both physical and emotional. When excessive sweating affects the hands, feet, and armpits, it is called primary or focal hyperhidrosis. In most cases, no cause can be found. It seems to run in families.

If the sweating occurs as a result of another medical condition, it is called secondary hyperhidrosis. The sweating may be all over the body or it may be in one area.

* Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition in which a person sweats excessively and unpredictably. People with hyperhidrosis may sweat even when the temperature is cool or when they are at rest. Sweating helps the body stay cool. In most cases, it is perfectly natural. People sweat more in warm temperatures, when they exercise, or in response to situations that make them nervous, angry, embarrassed, or afraid.

salt makes people retain water, so I'd think you'd sweat less. it also can give you high blood pressure, so it's not a good idea for sweat prevention.

it doesn't make you "retain water", but it actually absorbs water and makes you dehydrated, it isn't good for your body, and if you were stuck on a desert island, it would actually put your body into shock over time to drink sea-water because of the salt content in the ocean and you could last longer without water than ocean water, the dehydration would put your body into shock.
