"Contrary to the misinformation of anti-Witnesses, it is quite possible to become inactive in the JW religion without becoming disfellowshipped. As long as one's lifestyle does not bring reproach upon the congregation, and as long as one does not advocate one's disagreements with the religion, the congregation has no interest in "investigating", exposing, and disfellowshipping an inactive former Jehovah's Witness.

This is directly out of the Watchtower!

Note: "as long as one does not advocate ones disagreements with the religion"

Question: How scary is it to be in a position to lose all of your family and friends and support group, because you disagree with a corporation that tells you what you are supposed to think and believe?

do you see why the Governing body of the Watchtower bible and Tract society keeps you in Spiritual Captivity, and why it is so dangerous? YOU can't even QUESTION THEM!

The quote attributed to "Auchting_Heiss [sic]" is certainly NOT "directly out of the Watchtower". This answerer has repeatedly mentioned that every word of every answer has been typed by the answerer himself, except for Scriptural citations and other quotes which are plainly referenced as quotes. It seems bizarre and unwarranted that this questioner alleges plagiarism while offering absolutely no evidence of her wild accusations.

Jehovah's Witnesses certainly do not seek to control what anyone thinks or believes.

The decision to study with Jehovah's Witnesses is entirely up to the student. The decision to attend the meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses is entirely up to the attendee. The decision to qualify to perform formal ministry alongside Jehovah's Witnesses is entirely up to the prospective publisher. The decision to be interviewed and questioned by three separate elders during three separate interviews is entirely up to the person hoping to qualify for baptism. The decision to tell each elder that the interviewee wishes to be a baptized follower of Christ in association with the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is entirely up to the interviewee. The decision to declare aloud before an audience of hundreds or thousands that one understands his dedication and willingly submits to it is entirely up to the baptismal candidate. The decision to willingly submit to water immersion is entirely up to the new Christian.

If one has disagreements with Jehovah's Witnesses, then HE SHOULD NOT GET BAPTIZED. No other Christian religion has as careful a pre-baptism qualification process as Jehovah's Witnesses, precisely because they recognize the seriousness of this public dedication and want their students to understand that seriousness as well.

Any Jehovah's Witness who has doctrinal questions can address those questions to any elder among Jehovah's Witnesses, without fear that his private uncertainties might lead to involuntary removal from the congregation. Personal misgivings and disagreements absolutely do not disqualify a baptized Christian from association and fellowship with his brothers.

A person might feel that his questions are serious enough that he can no longer support the work of Jehovah's Witnesses. Such a person can simply stop supporting the work of Jehovah's Witnesses. After six months, he would be considered "inactive" and would not be counted in any statistic of Jehovah's Witnesses. He could continue to believe whatever he wished, and could continue to fellowship with those who choose to remain active Jehovah's Witnesses.

Only when a person's misgivings turn to accusations, and his questions turn to altercations, then the Congregation becomes concerned about whether the person's goal is clarity or contention. When a person begins to advocate teachings which are at odds with the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, it seems rather obvious that he no longer wishes to be a Jehovah's Witness.

Former Witnesses who are disfellowshipped or disassociated are typically treated in accord with the Scriptural pattern explained in these Scriptures:

(Titus 3:10) As for a man that promotes a sect, reject him after a first and a second admonition

(Romans 16:17) Now I exhort you, brothers, to keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.

(2 Thessalonians 3:6) Now we are giving you orders, brothers, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to withdraw from every brother walking disorderly and not according to the tradition you received from us.

(2 Thessalonians 3:14) But if anyone is not obedient to our word through this letter, keep this one marked, stop associating with him, that he may become ashamed.

(2 John 10) If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, never receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him.

(Matthew 18:17) If he does not listen to them, speak to the congregation. If he does not listen even to the congregation, let him be to you just as a man of the nations

Becoming baptized as a Jehovah's Witnesses is not a trivial step. At a minimum, a student must demonstrate months of regular meeting attendance and public ministry, then must himself express the desire to be baptized. The candidate then spends hours answering hundreds of bible questions wherein he expresses both a clear understanding and personal conviction regarding Jehovah's Witness teachings in at least three separate interviews with three different elders. The candidate must vocally agree to be baptized in front of hundreds or thousands of eyewitnesses, and must be publicly immersed in water. This is not a momentary emotional decision by an unreasoning child. Dedication as a Witness required hard work and determination at the time.

The key word there is "advocate."

We are allowed to have doubts, to do research, to question, and even to disagree. But the line is drawn when those that dispute the Bible teachings actively and unrepentantly try to cause others to leave the truth.

Paul said this would happen and that a person who does these things must be removed from the congregation. The purpose of this is not to enslave, but to protect.

Is there any other way to apply this scripture? Should we ignore Paul's counsel?

"Now I exhort you, brothers, to keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them." - Romans 16:17

With more than 16 million members, the Southern Baptist Convention is the nation’s largest Protestant denomination. Each congregation is autonomous. Under pressure from victims’ groups, the SBC in June pledged to examine the possibility of creating a national database of clergy predators.

Christa Brown, founder of StopBaptistPredators.org, was outraged that Hannah went from prison to the pulpit.

“When Southern Baptists put perpetrators into positions of spiritual trust again, it sends the message that this denomination doesn’t care about victims,” Brown said.

Lamb, this also shows something else which JW's like to deny. They simply cannot think for themselves. When asked a question, they must refer to Watchtower Material before they answer. Which is why so many of them post "links".

Basically what it comes down to is; "I have no opinion on that matter until I see what the Watchtower Lit. says about it".

If you ever come up with a question that their material doesnt cover, you can see the panic start up in their eyes. If they do come up with an opinion that is different from the Watchtower, and it is pointed out to them, they will actually lie and insist that you must have misunderstood them. That they NEVER espoused THAT. I have actually seen this many, many times on these pages.

I can respect honest disagreement. But not people who cannot think for themselves. Or people who are dishonest.

I know that there are many doctrines in the Bible that I find myself in disagreement with. I do not whitewash them. Since I know that the Bible CANT be wrong, then I must assume that I am. It is the sin in all of us. An honest person acknowledges this.

I have met very few JW's that are honest. I have talked to hundreds in the last 30 some years. There have only been a couple that I can say that I respected. One I was friends with for a very long time. But only because he was HONEST. Even though we disagreed, that honesty kept our friendship alive. To bad it is so rare with them.

Romans 16:17 - "Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them."

2 Thessalonians 3:6, 14 - "Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. ... And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed."

Titus 3:10, 11 - "A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself."

2 John 10, 11 - "If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds."

I met this very lovely couple of Jehovah's Witnesses and they are helping my daughter and I to learn and have a good life. Whatever they tell me I find to be true because they do not tell me something without backing up what they say from the Holy Bible with the Holy Scriptures. I went to your web link and what Auchtung Heiss is telling is true to the best of my knowledge. Look at Matthew 16: And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church (true church), and the gates of Hades will not OVERCOME it.
Right here in this open forum, tell us Unsilence Lamb, how can Satan NOT touch this one true church? Tell us since your goal is to crash down what Jehovah said is *good*. Tell us because I really want to hear it, so cut the chase and get to the point.
My answer is; a elder or leader has no control over the member's of the church. The leader is there to guide and teach the member's and remind them to keep their faith, don't let their guard down, and walk in an example of Jesus, because the "whole world is watching". But I will say to my own opinion that the leader's of the religion it's their DUTY to keep their church (congregation) CLEAN. Whoever commit's a abhorred sin and wants to live in immorality needs to be let go. The religions that have their member's do detestable sin's and live immoral but still can go confess once a week and is allowed to stay in the church; that leave's their doors wide open for Satan to OVERCOME their church. How can one go and worship with the Holy Spirit when all around you there sit's drunkards, gays, corruptors, fornicators, etc. I wouldn't like to be in that church because of my love and respect for our Heavenly Father, Son , and Holy Spirit.

Edit: You made NO point. When you go to church who is sitting all around you? When I went to the Kingdom Hall I saw what was GOOD, and nothing like how you say. When I get to learning really good about the truth I will come back and tell everyone that YOU are a BLIND LEADER! Get this 2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are His, and Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."
What overflows from the heart will come out of the person in actions and words. Your overflow is filled with animosity and jealousy; YOU know that is NOT God-Approval! My work as God's humble servant is done, for now.
IF GOD BE FOR THEM, NO ONE CAN BE AGAINST THEM.

This is what they call "unity". It is actually better classified as "uniformity".
It was said in the context of Mormonism, but it works with the JW's as well "when the prophet speaks, the thinking has been done"

Historical Christians have an answer to this. I heard it a long time ago and it goes "if we all think exactly the same, then some of us arent doing any thinking"

I swear Auchting_Heiss is a watchtower bot. He is the worst of all the Jehovah's Witness Trolls and certainly the most annoying!! He is so brainwashed it is as if he is the Watchtower in human form! You notice they never have any other source besides the Watchtower official site? How can you claim not to be brainwashed if you fail to find other sources and supports for your beliefs?

Why do you want to hang around people that are what you hate, and why would they want to hang around someone who hates everything they stand for and believe in?

"advocating ones disagreements" with fellow witnesses is causing divisions and contentions in the congregation.
Ps. 28: 25 & 26 "He that is arrogant in soul stirs up contention, but he that is relying upon Jehovah will be made fat. He that is trusting in his own heart is stupid, but he that is walking in wisdom is the one that will escape."

1 Cor. 1: 10 "Now I exhort you, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that you should all speak in agreement, and that there should not be divisions among you, but that you may be fitly united in the same mind and in the same line of thought."

Gal. 5: 19-21 "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealously, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects....those who practice such things will not inherit God's kingdom."

These are Jehovah's words that all Witnesses strive to follow. Jehovah's Witnesses follow the bible.
