It means you are very near-sighted

It means the natural focus of your eye is only 14 cm (~5 1/2 inches) in the front of the eye.

You have *too much* focussing power. To push that far point out to infinity it needs *negative* power lenses to reduce that.

Until that stabilises, usually by the age of 22, sometimes earlier, corrective laser treatment is not advised.
There are top limits for reducing myopia by laser therapy, but if these are exceeded other techniques are available.

I hit -14.00 in the worst meridian of my worst eye, and I've generally been happy with glasses. Another five years and I'm going for cataract surgery (before I get cataracts) to get my short sight removed, but that's not really an option for young people with severe myopia until accommodating (changing focus) implants are reliably available.

It means you are very very near sighted. But I have seen a lot worse at even younger ages. Hang in there & when you get to be 21 or 22 maybe you can get Laser Surgery. I don't generally push that option but you are really young & really have a heavy prescription so you would get the greatest benefit from the surgery.

Negative applies to a concave lens for short-sightedness. The measure in dioptres is the reciprocal of the focal length in metres.

Power of lenses are measured in diopters. If you can see things near you and you cannot see things far away, then you are to use concave lenses which are represented by "-" signs. When you can see far away things and cannot see things nearer then you are to use a convex lens which are represented by "+" sings. -7.25 D is a high power and now it is time that you go for a laser surgery by which your eye lens will be corrected. This is called vitrectomy. Please consult a good eye specialist.

You are really severely nearsighted. Your sight will keep getting worse until it finally levels off.
