There is a verse in the Bible that says,

12God will bless you, if you don't give up when your faith is being tested. He will reward you with a glorious life, [b] just as he rewards everyone who loves him. 13Don't blame God when you are tempted! God cannot be tempted by evil, and he doesn't use evil to tempt others. 14We are tempted by our own desires that drag us off and trap us. 15Our desires make us sin, and when sin is finished with us, it leaves us dead.

Now this verse shows that our desires are the main problem. My question is, Is it okay to blame to Satan for everything? Thanks in Advance for your answers!

Blame Satan for the temptation. Blame the individual for giving in to the temptation. Praise God for forgiving us (when we seek His forgiveness)

Some would say yes, but it's a curious paradox presents when it comes to free will within the Bible. There is a kind of closed-loop of logic. It goes like this; God created everything, that much is obvious. God also knows everything we are going to do in our lives. I have heard Christians stating on numerous occasions that God "has a plan", which implied direct involvement. However, it's also stated that in order for us to get into heaven people must follow God and Jesus and his teachings etc. etc. Now the question is this; if God has already made our plan, then surely that plan would include whether or not we decide to follow Him? In essence, if the above are true, then God decides in advance whether or not we get into heaven. We have no say in the matter. So really free-will is a tacky subject in Christianity.

Now onto the problem of Satan. Again this is a strange logically falacy, one that is demonstrated constantly. In short, if something good happens it's because God did it; if it's something bad then Satan did it. This is such a ridiculous assumption for many reasons. Take disease for instance. If a person came down with a particularly nasty case of Pneumonia then Christians might blame Satan for that. But of course, the Pneumonia virus is part of the natural world, of which God is said to be wholly responsible for. To the best of my knowledge Genesis said "God created the Heavens and the Earth, and on it he created all animals", not "God created all the nice animals, but all the insects, diseases and what not was made by Satan whilst God wasn't looking". This isn't even going into the above logical error that God has our lives planned out. Surely this would include any accidents, illnesses or downfalls in our lives?

Some would counter this argument that Satan works outside of God's own plans, that he influences our lives and goes against what God decides. That's all very well and good, but giving such an argument is pointless when you consider the figurehead of God himself. He's an all-knowing, all-powerful divine being capable of everything. So why would he allow some trumped-up fallen angel to go about messing around with the whole of his creation? It would be like Leonardo Da Vinci finishing painting the Last Supper and allowing the local children to scribble all over it. It just doesn't make sense. Sure, Satan may be an ex-angel and thusly of divine creation and origin, but is that really enough of an excuse for the most powerful being to let him slid so continuously.

These are just some of the many examples of why Christianity is a mix of hippocracy and illogical arguments and arrangements. Satan is less of an actual logical entity but rather a representation of something else. Satan is the non-believers, the people who try to turn good-hearted Christians away from immorality. It's a way of excusing God of any wrongdoing or evil within the world. As we know, how can a God be all-loving if he allows evil in the world? Simple, he doesn't, someone else does. Inevitably it comes down to a mixture of attempts to justify a logically ridiculous figurehead such as God and basic human understanding of the world around us. We need polarization, good and evil, to make sense of our own society and morality.

So can Satan be blamed for everything? Yes, because that's exactly what he's there for; to be blamed.

Satan is a convenient fall guy, but as you note from scripture, our desires are what fuel temptation. This is also interesting to me because that god does not use evil to tempt others...and God created everything (INCLUDING Satan). So, if God would not use Satan to tempt you, then what is Satan's role?

This doctrine is amazingly similar to some far east beliefs that say want is the root of our affliction....and not basic wants, like wanting food or shelter, but our dis-satisfaction with what we have in life...this curious need to have more and more all the time. It's at the root of suffering, this desire. Maybe it's not all that far off the mark.

You can blame Satan for everything, but that's taking the easy way out. What is being said here is that you need to take responsibility for your own actions. If it's Satan that's tempting you, or if it's your own desires, the person who resists temptation and follows the path that they know to be the right one will be rewarded.

Always do what is right, and if you're tempted to do something, ask if it's what you SHOULD do, or if it's what you WANT to do, and then do what you SHOULD do.

Good luck!

Not entirely. WE should blame Satan for the evil that has taken root in our world, but we should blame OURSELVES for allowing it to manifest itself. The Scripture says that we are to "mortify" or kill or stop doing "the deeds of the flesh" (the things we used to do). I know it doesn't sound simple, and because Satan will never stop tempting you, it WON'T be, but by separating ourselves from sin and living a pious life according to Scripture, it becomes a bit simpler each day, for we LEARN from our mistakes and press on!

You cannot blame the devil for everything, the scripture you quoted states it clearly that it is the desire that creates the environment that makes us fall.

You can still stand against the wiles of the devil without falling. Walk in the spirit and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh Gal 5:16

No. The verse specifically says that we are tempted by our own desires. Temptation comes from within, and how we react to it and deal with it makes all of the difference.

No, you have a freedom of choice and satan can not do any thing more than you let him,he can only attack you by your choices,or unless he asks God for permission to test you,and all things work out for the good to those who love the Lord,How do you want to live your life by opening doors to satan and putting yourself in bondage,or resisting the devil and he shall flee he came at you one way now he has to flee from you in seven.,Your flesh as to be crucified so you are led by the spirit Romans 8,1 corinthians 15:46-49,Romans 6

No... we are given our free will agency. If we choose to follow the dictates of our own carnal will and knowingly sin, we cannot blame Satan but only ourselves.

Sometimes we are tempted by Satan...

Sometimes by others...

and somtimes by our own lusts and selfish desires.

It is no sin in being tempted, it is only sin when you give into it and fail to repent and turn away from your backslidings.

Grace upon those who try, peril awaits the heedless.

Satan gets too much credit. Man does a fine job of screwing up everything all by our lonesome. Satan sets things up like the late night infomercials. The ones saying set up your business and it works for you even when your away or asleep. Sure he and demons sometimes put in personal appearances, but largely not.
