Good for your dad, if you learned your lesson.
To avoid more spankings, stay out of trouble - don't do stupid crap like stealing.
Spankings on the butt have never been, nor will they ever be, child abuse. Child abuse is when you hit to cause damage or humiliation. Formal spankings in direct response to a spank-worthy display of behavior is not abuse, it's discipline.
Those people out there who have convinced the world that spanking your child is the same as child abuse are part of the reason kids in the world are such trouble makers.

Well, honey, you used the word 'stole' so you know that what you did was wrong. What's more, you knew it was wrong BEFORE you did it, but you went ahead with it anyway.
That's really the lesson you should take away from this. If you know that you have to sneak around to avoid getting in trouble for something, you're about to mess up. If you can't look in a loved one's eyes later and tell them how glad you are you did something, you're about to mess up.
The real point is to behave morally, not just to avoid punishment. Remember that you reap what you sow. Always think hard about how your actions will effect others. Do a web search for 'thinking morally'. What you learn will improve your life and those around you.
Oh, and as a fringe benefit, you'll avoid those darn spankings!!
All the best!

WOW, brings back memories. I use to get spanked too, or whipped with a tree branch. I know it sounds hard & cruel, but I got a lot smarter and more mature fast. I luv and thank my parents for punishing me, I'm a better person now.
To best answer your question about getting into trouble I would have to ask, why a credit card... but I'd assume for money (duh me)... so to answer your question, if you don't want to get in trouble for stealing, look for a job,
Baby-sitting, cleaning, maybe talk to your parents about a bigger allowance.
tell them it'll help better your understanding about money.
Good luck
