Im not atheist but agnostic and i have no problems being thankful to my family, friends, loved ones.
Sure i understand why others need religion, but for me just being able to thanks my family is someone not no one. So it is not an issue for me.
I suppose if you had not friends, family then you would be very lonely.
(Who ever the thumb down jerk is should grow up, people here are being nice and trying to help with their answers and it is awful rude to be thumbing down everyone who ever you are, grow up )

No; if I'm thankful about something that has no person attached to it (like nice weather for a picnic) I just smile. God does not exist and did not cause meteorological events, so I'm not going to thank him for it.
The worst moment for an atheist is probably dealing with the same silly questions over and over again.

Thankful to what or who? Why would I be thankful if I was given a gift but I would express thanks to the giver. Note this is different from "thanking god" as the giver generally places a note with their identity on it, unlike god who doesn't...
Think about it this way, you've programmed your mind to attribute all good to "god" and look for no other reason. Thus the way I think is incomprehensible to you. On my side, I realize that there is no god, and can find the real reason for events.

Nope. When I'm thankful, I'm just that. I don't need to thank a certain individual. Just like when you find $1 on the ground. You don't know who to thank for losing it, you're just thankful that you found it.
I suppose you just thank the universe for sending you some good karma.

No
Recent things I have been thankful for:
my relationship - I can thank myself and my partner for working at it, my family for supporting us when things got rocky
My job - the people who employed me, myself, my family, my partner
my education - my parents who sacraficed so much for me to go to college, my teachers, myself for working hard
That sounds like a lot of people who supported me so how can you say I would ever have no one to thank?

I thank whoever helped me acheive what Im thankful for. Then I go into my bedroom, lock the door, and 'thank' myself for a job well done.

Correct: God pours His blessings even on the unthankful, yet they do not know that it is only the presence of the Godly that prolongs their probation.
They need thank the righteous for their very existence.

That doesn't even make any sense.
You assume people need a person to thank, which is a silly concept.

LMAO!!!!!!
Did you kindergarten teacher help you think of this question?
To be THANKFUL implies a reason. Look to the reason for who, or what, to thank.
God does not interfere here, you have no reason to thank the biblical monster either.
