Your putting God in a Box. What is that old saying? If a dog had a God it would look like a Dog. You are worthy of the God you worship. You deserve the God you worship. If your God is shallow and Insecure then YOU probably are yourself.
The trancendent trancends all human concepts.
What is it that makes religion work. The connection to the trancendent. IT is a feeling.
YOU dont have to wory about God what he is like. Go help another human being. Feed a hungry child build a house do something that connects you to the rest of humanity. Unless your a sociopath. you will connect to the trancendent in your heart. That is what God looks like. TO YOU>

From your other question on the anti-christ, (it won't lt me answer it) 1. the suberban Jesus is a prophet and the anti-christ (featured on 20/20) is the one that unites all the nations.
1. God needs us to worship him because when we do this, he gives it back to us, I get happy and get lost in my praise, believe it or not, some people get healed during worship, people worship to recieve from God actually.
2. we worship because as you worship some of the songs are like a prayer to bring the coming of the Lord. I turn some of the songs into a prayer for the gypsy village I went to on a missionary trip, so they will continue to grow in god and not be forgotten.

No, God isn't insecure. We worship God by way of fact it facilitates remind us of the magnitude of God in our lives and to be a good man or woman. i think of God ought to care much less if no person went to church, temple, synagogue, or mosque yet we circulate to church for our own spirituality and experience of community.

Think of God as our father (hence, God the Father). Wouldn't any good father want to be loved by his children that he loves so much? You will notice though that he does not kick in your door and demand you to love him though, He will not make you. But he does want you to.

Jesus's parable of the prodigal son says it all. I'll give the readers digest version:

Wealthy father has a son who just wants to go out and party. He demands his inheritance from his father hence, and though the father does not want him to go (he wants him to stay so they can be one united happy family) he lets him go anyways. The son lives it up, but eventually has wasted all his money and has to return home since he is now broke and homeless. When he gets there the son knows he has wasted money and and done nothing but mindless partying and does not expect a warm welcome. The father however throws a giant celebration because he loves his son, and is happy that he has returned to him.

The lesson is that God is not going to make you hang around him. But he loves you unconditionally and wants you to love him too. Worshipping God is not akin to some all powerful king making you kneel before him. It is dwelling in the pressence of the Lord and sharing fellowship with him as you are as happy to be in his pressence as he is to have you "home" with him.

For the entire parable of the prodigal son see Luke Chapter 15.

God commands our worship because He knows it is in our best interest, especially in the long run, to be in a proper relationship with him. That relationship grows into one of gratitude and love the longer we know Him. It is in our best interest to understand reality, and to be in a proper relationship with our creator and sustainer.

Maybe he has the ultimate God complex and needs it?
Too me , any god that creates a species and demands that it worship him for creating said species,...........Is a little self indulgent , to say the least.
Do I want to worship a God that created me just so I could worship him for it?
A God so petty, is no God of mine.

Telling God how great He is humbles us.

The effect is not for God.

It gets my thinking in line with worshiping Him.

Hi,

If you had children, would'nt you want your children to look
up to you with admiration? Not that you are being insecure or
anything of the kind, but that they serve you as a "Parent" for
sustaining them and being the one who put them here in the
first place? Let's leave God out of the picture, to "Worship"
means to "serve". If you have children, do they serve you as
much as you serve them? Would you feel insecure if your
children ignored you? Be reasonable now.

No God tell anyone to worship God ~ It's not God who force you to worship God - It could be someone else, you parents maybe .... and, God did not force them to worship God either, it could be their parent's parent!

And, again, God did not force their parent's parent to force their parent's parent to worship God ~ it's the parent of their parent's parent that could have forced or simply encouraged them to worship God - we live our life by choice ....

And, you grew older - you friend worship God .... but, someone could be forcing them to worship God too ...

No God tell us to worship any God ~ it's just our fear which arises after watching horror movie ... then we start to look for any God to worship, but which one:?

You scramble for God when feel scared when no doctor or scientist can offer you any help - you feel upset and you've got no one to turn to - you feel sad, but you can't see sadness. you feel cold, but, you can't see coldness, you get angry - but, you can't possibly see anger, and you feel frustrated - and, frustrated nowhere to be seen but it's there, and you very well know it's there.

Darkness is just an absence of light - you'll realize, that you are just like anyone car on the highway - the body gets old & rusty one day ~ once the car being scrapped, you have to look for a new vehicle to drive - but who is the driver?

Just like the physical body you're driving now ..... you can't see God - but, there's someone talking to you in your head ... and you just don't know who ..... doctor says, its halucination - most likely you're schrizrophenic, and you feel insecure ..... and then, you look for God - Oh God, please help me ....

But, no God asks you to worship God ..... and you seek God's help ~ please deliver us from evil .....

That's actually a great question. It's one that really bothered me when I first became a Christian, partially for the reasons you mention.

But I think the answer is something to which others alluded -- worship is for ME, not for HIM. He needs nothing -- certainly not his ego stroked, or something like that. But when I worship, I'm doing what I was created to do, and in that I find great purpose, meaning, and satisfaction.
