Is there anything i should check for because for the second time the porcilin around the diode of the plug has broken apart

Make sure that the spark plug is connected both at the cylinder and the distributer and make sure your getting good heavy duty plugs

You Might Have a bad ignition coil on that #1 CLY.You Can GoDown To Autozona or checker auto part and that can read the code if you have p0300 the just miss but if said p0301 that number one cly. p0304 is the number four cly.

Sounds like when you are replacing the plug, you are breaking it somehow. If the socket does not sit straight on the plug it will break the porcelain.

Bad injector on that cyl possibly also.
