I'm kind of interested in meditation...but I'm wondering...

No. Meditation is a practice that can be undertaken by anyone. There are forms of meditation present in EVERY spirituality, and there are forms of meditation that are completely outside of any particular religion.

The answer to this is no as the practice of meditation is a universal one for those of all religions and to those of no religions.As an occultist I meditate every day and has done me many wonders and I am open to all practices around the world.Meditation will ,in time lead to the gates of initiation and into a new age for all.

No, you don't have to be Buddhist in order to meditate. Nearly all religions practice some form of meditation.

Buddhism is more of a philosophy than a religion, but you can develop a meditation practice without ever getting into the philosophical underpinnings.

Just like yoga has been turned into a form of exercise.

Meditation is not a buddhist concept. It exists in all forms of society and religion.

Don't follow the Buddhist religion if YOU want.

no.

for the record, meditation was originally (and still is) an integral part of Hinduism, not Buddhism. it was adopted by Buddhism, which grew out of Hinduism. Hinduism is the oldest surviving major religion on earth.
