I am in love with my bf we have been seeing each other for 6 months and are mad about each other he is nearly 33 and i am only just 17. I just wonder if the age difference is a problem. But my heart says go for it. Help!!

well i have a male gay friend of 17, and he has been with much older blokes, like you say, 30ish.
i have a female friend who is 16 and chases after older guys too.
i have no issues with the guy, as i think he knows what he's getting into etc etc. the girl however i worry about because i feel she gives off wrong impressions and is more vulnerable and can be act generally stupid, saying that in the nicest possible way! but i'm not talking about proper relationships and love here.
i think the age is something to consider, as it is quite a large gap, my main thought would how well you get on, just on the fact that he is double your age and has been around for a while longer than you, and he has much more life experience and i would have thought you have different interests (i'm not talking about sex here). but if you love him and it's working out for you, why not? age is just a number, it might not work out, but you can learn from your mistakes right? be prepared for a few arguments with your parents if you do decide to tell them! oh and have you discussed the things on your mind about the age gap with your boyfriend and his thoughts etc? if not you should. good luck!

If you are under the age of 18, then your 32 year old lover could be at risk of being in violation of statutory laws in the state or locality you are living in. Otherwise, whatever puts a smile on both of your faces.

That is quite an age gap, especially as you are considered a child by the law.I have a son just a few years younger than you.It wouldn't bother me if he was gay when he starts dating in a few years, but it sure would bother me if he was seeing someone much older.

i don't think there is a problem with your age difference! Why should you worry about that as long as you love each other! Even there is a bit of age difference that should not get in your way!
But on the other hand you are only 17 years of age.....
and it is illegal if you are sleeping with him!

yes it is a problem becasue you are still under the age of 18 so technically you are considered a child and he is an audlt. and there is a bigg gap there. so i say just leave adn be friends ( ro freinds with benifits ) but i dont think thta you should keep seeing him just becasue its not a big possibilty but there still is a chance that he could get in trouble for dating a underaged minorif yo really love each other youll just let each other go ( dating wise ) adn just be friends

if it feels right in your heart then go for it , just keep an open mind that you may see things differently,(money,jobs etc)
as long as you don't doubt the relationship you should be fine!!

If you both love each other and treat it other with respect then I don't see the problem. You will of course have to get used to prjudices on two counts though - age and sexuality discrimination. Good luck.
