Im 16 and I work @ a grocery store thats about 20 min from my new house . . . i told my manager i could only work saturday and sunday so it wouldnt interfere with my final yr in highschool and i could get the car on those days but i would have to get up early on sat and drive my dad to work. The shifts i get there are about 8.5 hours, it is worth the effort and gas money or should i quit and find a new job in the summer, i got about $6000 saved to last me ....?!?!

A 20 minute commute doesn't sound bad, unless there are several job opportunities for you within walking distance of home.

Good for you for saving that much. Hang onto it for now and keep saving - you'll be glad you did.

Well it all depends.
If you can find a job closer than go searching. But if this is it and the ride situation is going to be the same no matter what, then I would just stick with it. Unless you can find a job closer to your father to make it more convenient. That all depends on where your father works.
What is also early? If its 5AM then maybe you should reconsider. But if its 8 or 9AM, then it might not be too bad. I would weigh all your good and bads of this. Would you be loosing more on gas money? Wil the $6,000 last you for a while?
