I have never come across a place that is so inherent with confusion, narrow mindness and uninformative babble. But my question is to all of you....

Christians - why are you here asking so many questions about your own faith? Shouldnt you be equipt to find answers, what with the majority of the western world being covered in your places of worship, and with the ever bountiful holy men of your church?

Athiests - why are you here wasting your effort on the religious crazies and their questions? You dont believe in a god or spirituality - so why does it affect you so much, as to draw you too a place where such matters are at a conversational peak...

Pagans, buddhists, Hindus, wiccans, occultists - why does your knowledge, advice and teachings lack in showing, in this place?

Everyone - how many of you realise how pointless a comparison is, between us? How many of you realise the arrogance and hate that is brought by an untilting, unopened mind

I dont mean to offend if i do!

I'll answer the "Christian" and "everyone" sections of this most profound and enlightening question.... (pffffffffffffft)

Christian ask questions about faith because... (drum roll please) humans are FALLIBLE! (I know... deep concept). By definition, we all waiver at times in our lives between belief and disbelief. Heck, at one time, I REALLY believed in Santa Claus... I really did. But I changed. At one time, I questioned the existence of God... at times I wonder about it still. People change. Ideas change. Our lives change. If we didn't question, we would be rocks -- lifeless, inert, and dumb.

True, there are plenty of places to worship and plenty of holy men (and women) who provide lots of guidance to me. They are a great support in many cases. But just like in a marriage, you can read books on marriage, you can study marriage, you can talk to others about marriage -- but in the END, the marriage begins and ends between you and your partner. The same is true with a relationship between a person and God. I don't know about other people, but for ME, it doesn't come naturally much of the time. Like a marriage, I have to work at it -- to communicatewith Him, to appreciate Him, and allow Him to work with me.

On the "everyone" question ... comparisons between different belief systems may be "pointless" in terms of trying to say one is "better" than another. The comparisons might be useful IF we are looking at what we have in common and respecting "the One in the other" (as the theologian Karl Barth put it). With that said, at some level, belief is belief -- one cannot reasonably expect me to change MY opinion about what I believe (assuming there is not a persuasive argument to the contrary) any more than I can expect to change someone else's (again assuming the same).

Bottom line -- just love everybody! Peace :)

Uniformative babble? Offensive...oh dear person...here you go.
I am here because it was a gift to me, from someone I love. I enjoy the reading and the music that comes in the emails (you must not recieve them, or you would appreciate it more)
Here is my take...
It's because most Christians don't read their own book. They rely on the "holy" men that also work for their own financial gain, yes, it's true, you must support the church. They generally miss the message, judge not, as well as, don't reinterpret the Bible. In fact they just don't know that GOD is within each one of them. When the preachers talk poeple down and instill fear, it's hard to see the light while hiding in the shadow for protection. They look here out of curiousity more than likely, I am sure they feel what they do not know is inside them, and they look for answers.
The aethists are just just "have nots", in regards to soulful enlightenment. If they are on this page, maybe they are just "have not yets". They look for a brighter day and a brighter message in these forums. They are searching their soul for that which is instilled but unfound within themselves.
Pagans, Bauddhists, Hindus, wiccans, occultists still haven't figured out the way to bring us all together. They know better than giving advice, they know, you find the answer within! The teachings from all of these are sought by an indiviual not posted on a forum. The teaching and advice that you refer to comes from within, at an individual level. Lack in showing... you obviously don't get the Panhala writings which exude the beuaty and knowlegde of all the things contained within the beliefs of each of the above catagories.
Well, there is my breakdown for you. Pointless babble, but you know what, as Confucious had said... ask yourself three times and you will know the answer.
Everyone...here is the gist of it. When they wrote the Bible a mistake was made. Here it is corrected.
GOD=GOOD=GUT, Good is good and evil is bad.
You know the difference between good and evil. Yes, I realize the magnitude of arrogance and hate in an unopened mind. I also realize that the word itself is spelled with a Z not an S.
You can take your question away and run a spell check on it...if you still have questions, send me an email. In regards to your confussion and narrow mind that you have, open your mind and realize that you cannot offend, this forum is here to read and search your soul. Granted it gets messy at times, but just like enlightenment, you can't always understand it.

You don't offend me and thank you for your question. I can only answer for the Christians since I am Christian. The Holy men of the churches are not giving the information that the Christians are hungry for. The Bible is not being taught in the churches and without the Word of God Christians stray toward false doctrines. Christians can see the signs of the times and recognize the latter days, but the priests and pastors are not teaching this in the churches. Christians are hungry for the Word of God.

My mind seeks the mind of God and no other mind. Perfect love casts out all fear and the world is chaotic.

"Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them." Psalm 119:165 KJV We are neither to be offended, nor are we to offend. Do not let your feelings be hurt. Don't let it happen. Forgive the person, pray for the person and love the person.

Speak TRUTH.

You assume far too much about all the different groups..

Just because someone is Atheist doesn;t mean they are not spiritual..

Just because someone is christian doesn;t mean they don;t question their own faith..

As for the other groups consider the numbers of each group in the english speaking world those represented here are a pretty good estimate of the population of those groups in contrast to the general population numbers..

As for unopened minds yours seems pretty closed at this point wouldn't you say...

Offensive? was there any other point to this question? You were calling out ever group based on your biase if that wasn't meant to be offensive what was it meant to be?

I believe that you bring up some excellent points. Unfortunately, serious questions don't get much coverage here. The rants and the raves far outnumber positive (or negative, as the case may be) responses whether it be in agreement or not. People are free to ask what they like but I steer away from this site many times because it brings forth so very much name-calling (sheep, dumb, uneducated) and so very little conversation (I disagree because, I see what you're saying but,). Oh well, life goes on - don't let the naysayers and loonies run you off. God bless - good question.

1. In my present opinion; this is a forum that people of various 'religions' can exchange ideas; and be 'imformed' by others about various religious topics.
2. Regarding 'Christians' specifcally; there are tests given to souls 'Christians' for this point. Some pass those tests; some souls do not pass those tests presently. That difference is part of where the 'division' in Christianity comes from presently in this world.

Pagans, buddhists, Hindus, wiccans, occultists - why does your knowledge, advice and teachings lack in showing, in this place?

------

Probably because we don't proselytize, as a general rule. So we're not standing up on stumps telling others "You're wrong, we're right, believe like we do or you're stupid / ignorant / going to hell."

If asked, we will share our knowledge, but we're not going to force ourselves on those who aren't interested, because everyone has their own path to walk.

As a christian I'm here to see and read what some of the lost have to say about the faithful. Not here to judge.
I'm not perfect I'm just forgiven.

No offense taken. It's a valid question.

I cannot speak for all atheists, but I am here for entertainment. I've also learned a lot of things here.

Mainly, I am here to tweak the noses of the self-righteous. They make it so easy.
